| GA Yorkie Saved! Thank you Bluebelle & daughter YHR received an email last week about a female yorkie in a GA shelter. It is a very long story.....will attempt to shorten it a bit here. We had a foster home in NC that was willing to take this little girl. I reached out to Bluebelle since she lives close to that shelter and her daughter immediately stepped up to help us by pulling her and getting her to Atlanta to meet a friend of ours who was going to take her to Charlotte. Right when she was ready to go get her, the shelter called me and said they had released her to another rescue! I was dumbfounded since I had spoken with them many times and they knew we were making arrangements. But....things happen and all we could do is pray that she would be ok. Just yesterday someone from the shelter contacted me to tell me that this pup had luxating patellas and hip dysplasia and the group that had her was advised to euthanize her. I was floored. They said that the vet said she was too old for surgery...estimated age is 8 - 10. She asked if we could still take her and I said that we could. Sooooo....once again, I reached out to Bluebelle's daughter and bless her heart she was there today to pick up this darling yorkie. OK...this is getting kind of long. haha ... Honestly, there is so much more that I am saving you from. hahah Ariel as they called her is now safely on her way to Charlotte. I am not sure if we will keep that name, but will keep you all posted on her. THANK YOU Bluebelle/Marcie and your sweet daughter!!!! A pic of this sweetie: ariel.jpg

| The girl who works at the shelter and took it upon herself to follow up is the hero here. I was dumbfounded by this one. Thank God she took my number last week...I had emailed her back after the original mess to tell her what had happened. She had called me then to ask me about what had gone on...and she saved my number.

| Ariel went to the vet today. She does have luxating patellas and severe arthritis...she does NOT have hip dysplasia. Poor baby has some problems walking. They said she is very sweet! Probably was used as a breeder is what they are thinking....so sad...but that part of her life is now behind her. She also has mammary tumors. She will be having them removed and a dental done...then a couple of weeks after that, they will repair her knees. Hopefully this little darling will be good as new in no time! Here are some new pics of her: arielweb3.jpg arielweb2.jpg arielweb1.jpg

| Wonderful news that she doesn't have hip dysplasia. Thanks for the pictures. She is so cute with that black "blotch" on her nose.

| I am wondering if that blotch is new hair. When these pups lose hair, it often grows back very black and then fades in time. She may have had hair loss on her nose if she was crated and rubbing it....which is very common in crated pups.
