I am in Palm Bay (next to Melbourne in Brevard county).

If your brother is interested he would have to go through the rescue group. I am just fostering Reno. Here is the link - click on "adoptable dogs"

Wow I'm sorry things didn't work out with Reno just yet. I guess it just wasn't meant to be and you can love him a bit longer

I am sure the perfect parents are out there for Reno - sorry things fell through for him but I know he will be blessed with the perfect forever home

I hope so too. He deserves a forever home. He is so sweet.
I am annoyed at the couple who applied to adopt him.
The filled out the application, LDR checked them out, spoke to them, vetted them and passed the application to me. I spoke with them. Asked if they wanted to come out and see Reno before making a final decision.
The husband said No, his wife is adamant she wants Reno. He was going online to pay the adoption fee through Paypal.
Didn't hear anything else. I tried calling him and left a message on his answering machine Saturday, no response, I called and left a message again on Sunday, still no response. Michele from LDR called them yesterday on their cell phone and managed to get them. Oh, they got a dog locally on Saturday, so they won't be taking Reno. Michele sent them an e-mail saying it would have been courteous to let us know, that she was happy they rescued another dog but common courtesy would have saved us some time that would have been better spent elsewhere.

I suspect, if they really did get a rescue dog, they got it at the local shelter - which is a good thing to do -that only has $70 adoption fees.
Some people don't understand that the local shelter is supported by the county, our dog license fees go to support it.
Rescue groups have to rely on donations and adoption fees to keep going. So the adoption fee is naturally higher.
