good home wanted for my best friend
 

I have had my yorkie for 10 years, and he has been my best friend. I got him right after my divorce and he was the only thing that saved me. He has been thru 4 kids, cats, other dogs, and city and country living. He got injured when he was playing with my boxer, and his jaw ended up broken. I could not afford to fix it and the vet said as long as he can eat he will be fine. He eats great and drinks, no problem. He needs his teeth pulled, they are decayed but I do not have money to fix them. I lost my job and could not take him to the vet. I lost my 3 year old boxer 6 months ago to cardiomyopathy, and I still cry for him. I wear his ashes in a heart around my neck. I just got a job which involves travel away from home 5 days a week. I have tried to have someone watch him, but it is not working. I cant bear the thought of giving him away, but I need to think of him. He is the most loving, loyal dog anyone could ask for. He is never more than 2 feet away from me. He is great around any atmosphere, he needs no leash, I take him to flea markets and he rides in the cart. I have a backpack and take him on my motorcycle even. He is only about 3 lbs and he is black and brown. I live in akron, ohio and have tried every rescue group around with no response. Please help me find a good home for my best friend. Michele

Have you try Yorkie Haven Rescue? This little guy need medical attention badly...:(

Yorkie Haven does not have foster homes in OH. If you pm your email address to me, I can send this information to a friend of mine in OH to see if she might have any ideas.

If we can get him to CT I will take him in a heart beat!!!!! I have a 4 year old fixed male and have been thinking of getting him a roommate. I can give you any info you need to assure you that he will have a happy and loving home.

To the OP: Please be sure that you thoroughly check out anyone who you are considering giving your best friend to! He clearly needs vet care that is not going to be cheap! Make sure that you get the name of the vet that people use and call and be sure that they have a good history of fully vetting their pups, including dentals as needed.
You really should also do a home visit to see where he will be living.

As LadyJane stated, this dog is going to require quite a bit of veterinary care so please don't see it as a "free dog".
I sure hope somebody with the necessary financial means can help rescue this dog!

Praying for you that you can find your best friend a good home. Do you not have a friend or relative that can keep him?

Thanks to all who have replied. I have tried all of the rescue groups but no response. I am afraid I have no choice but to put him down. I feel like I have betrayed him after all of the years of joy he has given me. I realize his needs are too much for someone to take on.

I do not have any pics. He is black with a tan head and legs. He is just 3 lbs, and I recently cut him short after years of keeping him long.

You've had suggestions and people on here who want the dog or have referred you to rescue groups. I really sense that you are a troll. Sorry if I am wrong, I have never said that to anyone before, but really, you say the dog is quite injured, you refused vet care, the dogs your best friend, you want to put it down. Really?

If I was closer i would take him. we have a small female and male less thann 3lbs and theres no way i could ever give them up if it meant working all day every day to supply what they needed. They are my kids. I wish I could get him closer to Oklahoma. Please dont put him down. This breaks my heart to know what this baby must be going thur.

I came to this site for help and found now for it to be very cruel and heartless. I have tried EVERY avenue available. Would you like me to forward all of the emails that say no?Everything you suggested I try. I cant get him to Ill., I have no relatives, I tried every rescue group, either the phone was disconnected, no response, filled voice mail, or they are all filled. I have tried to get vet asst., he needs his teeth pulled not major surgery. His jaw cannot be fixed, and as long as he was in no pain and could eat and drink, he would be fine. Im sorry I asked this forum, you have made a bad situation worse. DONT YOU THINK IF I COULD FIND A HOME OR HELP I WOULD HAVE!!!! You do not need to call yourself a considerate or helpful person. Thank you to the ones that had positive and caring feelings, Bentley and I appreciate it.

Your getting help for sure. Puppy Pals will drive to you and pick the dog up. They drive all over to rescue and help people who are having a hard time. They understand you love your dog and they want to help find places where your baby will get needed care and be loved. They are in Ohio and They love all small dogs. They will do most of the work. I know they are not full right now because we just had a bunch of dogs adopted. So there is room. We are NOT judging we are trying to assist.

I applied for united yorkie rescue 3 days ago and heard no respone. Renee Roth just emailed me that Puppy Pals can help. I received a email from her this morning that she had no room, but I am glad she reconsidered. I followed your suggestions, you can check up and see for yourself.
