| Foster homes needed - ny/nj/ct/pa/md/va Save A Yorkie Rescue can always use more foster families - especially in NJ. Please let me know if you are interested. I know first-hand how attached you can become fostering - we have had over 45 foster pups in the past 4 years. We did finally adopt 2 of our fosters last year - just couldn't let them go - but that was after 3 years of fostering. Just knowing that they are going to wonderful, loving homes makes it easier (although I cry every time). Please go to Welcome to Save A Yorkie Rescue, Inc. and fill out the application (same as if you are adopting) and help us help these homeless pups! PM me if you want more info. |

| Hi, I am not in your area and have 3 of my own dogs, but very curious what is the fostering time frame? I realize there is no set time, but can it end up being several years? Just wondering. Thanks.

| the longest i had one particular dog was 4 months. generally they are adopted within a few weeks. there have been dogs that have medical issues that take longer to get adopted and many of the foster homes end up adopting at least one of their fosters at some time. we had been fostering for 3 years before adopting (we already had 4 of our own) but last year 2 pups came into our home that we just fell in love with and could not let go. so now we have an even 1/2 dozen. |
