| That is the saddest thing I ever heard. Tears are rolling down my face and now I can't stop crying. Who would ever want to do this to a poor defenseless little animal? |

| I only hope this evil #)&8### doesn't have any other animals in her home or on her property. I do wish whomever saw this poor baby would have called the human society. She needs to be investigated immediately. Oh Dear God, I wished I knew where she was because if she was in reach of me I think I would do everything I could to make her life a living hell for awhile. I can hardly type right now I am so #**%^ off...(sorry)...This discussting human being (and I don't think she could be human) doesn't deserve to breath.... I donated what I could for this poor baby thru Pay Pal...I only wish I was loaded cause I would pay that babies way all the way....Bless The Beast and The Children...........They only have us to protect them........

| Folks I hate to tell you but many of these little guys that go through rescue have had rotten lives like this. My very first yorkie mix was found at the pound in a cage with alot of much bigger dogs just trembling, scared out of his mind. Luckily the pound released him to rescue because they thought he would probably die anyways of other diseases. It was discovered once he was home that he had been kicked so hard that his hind leg was not attached at the hip anymore. Everyone of the 10 rescued dogs that live here all have sad stories, some more painful than the others. I am happy to say that Tahti is a happy go lucky guy now and has the use of all 4 legs except when he runs and he only runs on 3 legs (I think he thinks he can go faster). The amazing thing to me is that some one paid $$$ for Tahti and the other 9 dogs and then threw them away when they couldn't house train them, they were old, their mommy bought them when they were 82 and died, they bite their children and they were done breeding them to make $$$$.Hopefully as you read these stories you will understand why rescue organizations are so tough on their applications. Most of these little guys have already had more than their fair share of pain, abuse and heartbreak and we will not let that happen again. These animals deserve a forever home of love and kindness. One of the reasons we won't adopt to people with kids is because of liability - we could be sued and lose the ability to help rescue animals if one of the rescue's bit a child. We also don't always know of the history of the dog and how they feel about children, so we don't take a chance. We are nervous about adopting a yorkie out to someone with big dogs because we don't know how the 2 will react to each other and again we don't want to take a chance. I think if the two are raised together you are fine but when you don't know we err on the side of protecting the dog. Age is another issue some people have but when a woman is young 18 - 25 and wants a dog we know their life is going to change a great deal in the next 10 years. Many get married and have children and sometimes the two don't mix, some are working hard on a career and are not home enough for these very social little animals. When people are over 75 we don't want these little guys to be looking for another new home when someone dies. It is heartbreaking for a dog to be 10 years or older and no one wants them because they are old. As everyone knows these dogs can live a long life. As hard as it is for people to understand our 1st priority is the dogs interest and well being not the people's interest. We might only have a month to evaluate these animals and try to match them up to a forever home. It is not always easy but every person in rescue does it because they care about the animals and do what is right for them. Cindy & The Gang |

| I came acrossed this site today while I was surfing on the Net. I am the proud owner of Hope, the little Yorkie. Sandy, a fellow rescue friend of mine called me at work one day to see if I could have one of our vets evaluate a little Yorkie that someone found at a Garage Sale. Sandy had been waiting a long time for a little Yorkie to come into her rescue as she wanted one for herself. I told her yes we would evaluate the little dog that was unable to walk and lived OUTSIDE! Hope was brought in shortly after the phone call and when I went to get her out of the crate it was like a little Gremlin came to life. LOL She jumped at me with all those teeth showing and growling with all her might. This poor little girl was terrified. I went and got a towel and took this little monster out of her crate and thanked the lady for bringing her in. I then walked back and asked Dr. Julie to take a look at her, she looked at her and then at me and thought….Vicki what have you brought in this time. I’m known for bringing in the most pitiful cases and once again I was at it. Hope was so frightened we ended up sedating her, she had teeth of a 10 yr old Yorkie that had never had a dental, she was so infested with fleas and old dead hair that was matted to her skin. She was very underweight at 2.6#. We x-rayed her hips and legs because they were so deformed. We noted that she had a perianal Hernia and was incontinent of urine and stools. I asked Dr. Julie to give me her honest opinion on what I should do; she and another vet told me that the pitiful little dog should be Euth. This broke my heart and I called Sandy to let her know what the Dr. had found. After talking with Sandy I knew I could not put this little dog down. I bathed and combed and worked on cleaning her up a bit. I decided to take her home with me and keep her until Sandy and I could meet for her to take her. We decided that we would do whatever we had to to help her. After keeping Hope a day or two I knew I would not be able to part with her. I emailed Sandy and asked her if she would be to upset if I kept her for myself. I did not hear from Sandy for a couple days as she was upset that I was taking her little Yorkie. Sandy finally emailed me telling me I was right, Hope needed to live with me. (That was the name she had chosen for her) I have experience with disabled pets as I am a vet. Tech. And work with these kinds of animal’s everyday. I took Hope to OSU Vet Clinic in Columbus where she spent the day having all sorts of test run. When the tests were finished they called me into a room and gave me the news. Hope was born without the last ¼ of her spine. She is missing her sacrum and her tail bones. She has no nerves to her colon or her bladder and would be incontinent of both and there was nothing we could do to correct either of these problems. The soft tissue surgeon said we could correct the perianal hernia with surgery. Her bladder sticks through the hernia and that would have to be repaired using netting as she has no muscle mass in her rear legs to work with. This surg. was quoted at $2200-$2500. Hope was scheduled to have surg. This week as she is finally over 3#. But Mother Nature has decided she is healthy enough to come into heat so surgery will be postponed until the New Year. Thank you so much to all of you who have offered prayers, monetary donations and all the lovely gifts that have been sent to Hope. Hope was a gift sent down to me from Heaven. Vicki and Hope |

| Wow you are amazing, thank you so much for taking in this little girl and saving her life. No animal deserves to live like that. I wish every person had a heart like you then their would be no abused animals in this world. This whole story made me cry, my heart goes out to you. And Congrats on your little girl Hope, she is an angel sent from heaven.
