| wow you are so awesome for saving him and giving him the best home for his golden years...how horrible. you just wonder what the hell some people think. selfish and stupid so i guess maybe they dont. so glad this story was a happy one thanks to people who make a difference like you!!!

| Ya know this just made me realize that I will never have carpeting again, seriously...never. At present, I have an area rug in my living room. I have replaced it 2x because...well you guys know why, but I purchased an upright shampooer just for that rug, I will use it when/if I need to, but the carpeting can always be replaced...I can't imagine ever giving my babies up...and I do recall a time long ago when I did have to give up my pets...and I vowed then and there that I will never be put in that situation again..let alone ever have to do that to another pet...my grief over that is still deep. But it was total different circumstances, and I can't conceive that anyone would ever do such a thing over carpeting...omg, unacceptable...
