Someone, please give me info. My baby died in november and I've been unable to afford another yorkie, I would be willing to adopt! I am in NC.

Hi Doglovingowner...

The shelter is only releasing to rescues...and I don't have a list of which rescues have already reserved some dogs.... I am in MA (with a rescue) and we are trying to figure out what we can do.... we just have such tough laws here in MA... and all of our paperwork is for MA...

I wonder if I can pull and then give the pup to you? The rescue I am with is very small....really only two of us....and we are looking into our options...

It looks like the shelter is only releasing the Yorkies to rescues, not private owners.

This is actually a good idea as I am sure these poor babies will need lots of expensive vet care plus lots of rehabilitation in foster homes before they are ready to be adopted out.

That is probably the reason they are just being euthanized by the shelter. They have probably been deemed unadoptable in their present condition.

YTCA is working on this, they are gathering up bodies to pic up dogs when they are to be released on Tuesday. There was a local rescue that rescued a portion of them on Friday.

It appears that none have serious medical problems.

The Shelter Emergency # informed YTCA that their phone has been ringing off the hook for these dogs.

Great news to hear they have been getting alot of calls....we are working with a Rhode Island shelter and I am trying to get some to foster...I have a cabin in NH and said that I would go there with them so they would not be in MA....

Another update: I will have more information about the rescue that pulled the 17 later tonight (by 10pm) I just want to make sure it is okay to post their information here on YT.

Thanks everyone for getting the word out and helping these little ones. I believe come Tues morning there will be an abundance of rescues lined up for these furbabies.

I am on the "list" to get a couple from one of the rescues that is suppose to be pulling...perhaps even a pregnant Mom....

I will let let everyone know if I do end up fostering some...we have set up a quaratine here so we should be all set if they do end up this far north...

The rescue that pulled the first 17 will be adopting them out for $150. That will include all vaccinations and spay/neuter.

I am so happy these little ones are getting rescued! I just hope there are plenty of foster homes available!

As a previous owner of a Yorkie I would be interested in having a tiny Yorkie since he/she would be with me at all times. Please let me know if this is poss. Annie
