nd M pup who may grow BIG to help the spirit of my 16 yo baby live on!

I miss my baby incredibly. With our effort and help from a group and Jean Dodds, we turned his gentle age into one that had him walking 2 miles a day, hanging out in the dog run and swimming 5 times last summer. Conventional vets gave him 1 month. With his effort and mine and support from his 40 pound brother, we turned it into 16 happy more months with renewed energy.
2 weeks ago today he went to the Rainbow Bridge. And his big brother desperately needs a new brother.
But because we're in transition, we really need a puppy who'll adapt. We're looking for a baby boy, one who'll hopefully grow big, 12ish pounds would be great. But 8 and up would be fine. I've had 3 at 12 pounds and all were incredibly hardly and could do anything I did, travel, camp, go to beaches, play for hours on end at home, in the snow or at the beach.
Please if you know of one, we'd like to know. I live in NYC, so somewhere in a state not too far away would be great.
