Responsible breeders DO rescue....but they do not ignore medical conditions or short cut on treatments which she clearly admitted doing. I will say it as I have said before...there is no big money in breeding unless you are a large operation and neglect the medical needs of the pups who need it.
I totally do NOT understand people sometimes. Here there were plenty of people trying to help and she disappears.
I don't care what is happening in her life...the poor pup needs to be seen by a vet. They are not able to speak for themselves or get the help they need. ..
Makes me want to scream. I suppose I need to ignore this thread because it just infuriates me and I know I cannot control what others do. We cannot save them all.
I agree, responsible breeders DO rescue, and the couple of my friends that do breed, on a limited basis and show, have told me they are always in the red.

They do it for the love of the breed. And they rescue because they feel they want to give something back to the breed. They feel a responsibility to rescue.

I agree, I think it's time that we drop this thread, because it just keeps me upset, as well.

I feel pretty stupid for wasting my Vets time, and my Chiropractors time.

Originally, I had gone on Hoobly looking for an old fashioned baby pram, because my son and his wife are planning another baby. I was up all night with a bad cold, coughing my fool head off. So, out of curiosity I began looking at Yorkies. (I was not and am not looking for a puppy, I was just looking) and I saw the ad for the injured puppy and saved it to my pictures file so I could show my Hubby when he woke in the morning.

But, good gracious, I saw only BYB'S on there!

I say, lets answer the ad for the shotgun........

You guys try and get this puppy. I know that YT members are very generous and kind hearted and will donate for this puppy medical treatment. Just think if everyone donates 20 bucks. This will for sure take care of this guy...I plan on donating this thursday. I will call on on my friends to help with this cause and to your organization....

That is very sweet of you....but, at this point, she is not answering anyone!!! There were two people in contact with her but she stopped communicating. She apparently does not want any of the help that was offered on YT.
I think it is best to just let this thread drop...there is nothing we can do at this point, unless someone new wants to try to contact her; but, I have a feeling she is not going to allow a YTer to take him. I have my own thoughts on WHY this is.

A golf tournament would be great!

The pics from Scottie Rescue items do not show...I just did a search for them online, but cannot find them. Do you have the link? I would love to see them.

That is so nice you support rescues! None of the rescues could continue to save pups if not for people like you!

Sometimes I see people complain about adoption fees...what they do not understand is that the adoption fees don't even come close to meeting the expenses of caring for rescue pups. Rescues all have fundraisers and heavily rely on donors, many of whom are not adopters.

hello,
I would just like to clear a few things up!
first I took this little boy in the day he arrived to my home!
and have since that day! im doing my best to help him!
second I don't consider myself a rescue-I only try to help! one of the reasons I do receive animals not just dogs is that I do not ask questions! and point the finger that is why 50 % of pets end up on the street people are just afraid that they will get in trouble! yes its wrong but if ray didn't come here just imagine where he would of ended up!

ok now to the people who are saying I ignored them!!!!
first I did not ignore anyone! I don't think I should be explaining my personal family issues to the world
but I need to explain my side!
I did not ignore Jodi or Sheila I told them both I was dealing with horrible news!
on Friday we were told my mother-in-law has cancer (lungs & liver) they want to start chemotherapy asap. it hit me/us hard-it came out of nowhere!
she went in from not feeling good to cancer in a matter of days! as soon as I got in late Friday evening I e-mailed them both to let them know what was going on and that little ray was with my daughter and her future in-laws and also was on Rimadyl as suggested. since then I have been up north I/we just came in this morning so the kids can get back to school!

ladyjane
what is this suppose to mean!!!!

OK...I think this link speaks volumes..........I knew it, but had to go find out for sure.

Dragonfly Acres - Sold Puppies!

I hope your not calling me a miller! I have been in involved in the mastiff community for well over 25 years I have worked my behind off trying to improve and maintain the true old English lines!
and I am known and trusted by some of the best kennels in the world.
once again I don't think I need to explain myself!

and this:

I have a feeling she is not going to allow a YTer to take him. I have my own thoughts on WHY this is.
please tell me your thoughts! I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW!

also I just got your e-mail saying you know I have been on line and on Yorkietalk and Why are you ignoring everyone? did you ever hear about always being logged on?
just because it says I'm on line doesn't mean I'm really on, my Internet stays on it runs through satellite
so im always logged on!

I'm sorry if I sound harsh but I have been dealing with a lot lately and I don't appreciate being talked about! for those of you that would like updates on ray your are welcome to personally e-mail me and I would be more then happy to answer your concerns.

ray has a few days left on his med's and will be fully evaluated again. we can all say what we think/want but im no export and am leaving it up to the vets to decided what is the next step for him.

OK...my impression was that he had finished his meds. Not sure where I got that.
BUT....no matter what you say above, my question to you is WHY the original post saying he needed help ASAP?????
As for comments about rescue....this is the rescue section and people were TRYING to help.
I have a lot going on in my personal life as well, but I still must care for my pups.
No offense, but you made Ray sound like an immediate NEED.
You have been online on YT this past weekend, but were too busy to reply to this thread? Sorry, but I do not understand that. I PMd you this morning to say that...guess that woke you up.
Thanks for the post.
I will NOW assume that you do not need help with Ray. I do hope he is going to be just fine and receive the veterinary care he needs.

how extensive do you believe his treatment will be?
well there are a few options, treatment by a chiropractor and med's to put his disk back in place or surgery to put disk back in place.
he was given cordizone and was normal as any other dog but once med's were finished he returned to the way he was before med's.
REPORT FROM VET: Compressed C 1 & C 2 vertibrare
Causing neuralgic pressure while trying to stand and walk.

OK...this is where I got it! I knew I had read that he had finished his meds.

Marie, I am not going to be reading this thread any more. It is a waste of a rescuer's time.
IF you need help with poor little Ray, you can contact a rescue on their website. Almost every rescue takes in pups like him. You can find their contact information on their websites. Posting him on the classifieds is not going to get him a good placement, in my opinion.
Anyway...I suggest the following:
United Yorkie Rescue
Yorkshire Terrier National Rescue
Yorkie Haven Rescue
There are far too many people and/or yorkies needing help for me to be wasting any more time on this. IF you REALLY want help you can PM me or contact the rescues above. Just MY suggestion.

All the years I did Orphaned Wildlife Fostering, he never charged me for an exam or a medication.

He said if she will come in with me, he will waive the office fee. I know he would not get involved and prescribe the Rimadyl if he did not feel this little guy could be helped.

He wants her or her daughter to come to the first appointment with Rich and I, otherwise Rich and I would gladly drive out and get him. I also think it would put her at ease to meet Dr. Larry, and Rich and I. In speaking with her, I know that she cares very much about where he spends his life.

So, I am praying she returns my call and is willing to bring him out for the exam.

The cortisone and Rimadyl did the trick for my tiny Kia so I am praying the Rimadyl helps this little one.

I love animals, I've fostered so many babies over the years. And I adore my Yorkies! My girls are my life. Sydney heard me talking to Daddy about a sick baby puppy and she stood up on her little hind legs, and looked at us, as if to say, "Where is the baby?" She is so smart, she knows the words "sick baby" so well, from all my years as a Wildlife Fosterer.

We definitely have room in our hearts for a Special Needs Baby.

But seriously, if there is anyone here, that lives closer, I would not be a bit upset if you contact Marie. I just want this little guy to get the help he needs, and a loving forever family.

Sheila
I hope you are able to adopt this little guy! I currently live in East Chicago and am looking to relocate to Valpo. Would you mind giving me the name of your vet. So I can ask my current vet if he knows him, and if he approves! Thanks! you can PM me with the info if you would like.

Thanks Nicole

Please do not be angry. Everyone just wants to help your pup and can help him live a happy, healthy life. We should all work together for his benefit. You know, people that rescue see such awful things and are the first ones to step up and take charge. You have to act fast or a life could be lost. Please let us help you with this pup..Thanks Lissette
