| I have to agree with all of you, how can these people sleep at night. I hope someone adopts the little guy asap. All our pets have been adopted from rescue groups or a no kill shelter. This situation reminds me of the following piece by Jim Willis c2001 About.com: http://www.crean.com/jimwillis/hcy.html |

), Madison after someone found him out in the desert. He weighed only 2 1/2 lbs when I first brought him home in March and I'm not sure, but I think he's close to 8 lbs now. He had matted hair and severe gasto-intestinal issues, but we got thru that for the most part and this little guy is the MOST joyful, happy dog I've ever seen. He's so full of love and is so patient with us, it's just heartbreaking to think that anyone could leave him. All I can say is that maybe it's just as well, b/c he's got a really wonderful home now, with people who just adore him and would do anything for him. I think often of who the people that abandoned him were and if they think about him. People have no idea what they are doing when they abandon an animal thinking that "someone will take them in".....heaven only knows how long this little guy went without eating (It was pretty obvious he ate very little very infrequently and he had issues with eating when he first came here,....he had to FIGHT for whatever he managed to scavenge up out there...it just breaks my heart that any animal would have such a hard time trying to survive, esp. such a wonderful, loving and trusting one! I will probably go to my grave saying that taking Madison in is the best thing I've ever done in my entire life. And I saved people's lives for a living. None of that even comes close to comparing to giving a pet companion a second chance. Bless you for saving your little one, I don't have a single doubt that they are SO grateful to us for it!
