| Yorkie Rescue In North Carolina - NC Yorkie Rescue, Inc. Hello everyone. I am Melinda and have been a member on this site for over five years. I just rejoined with a new screen name in July and rarely post. But, I thought it was best I say a few things and answer any questions. Thank you all for your caring concern for these yorkies. I know initially it was very confusing, but hopefully all has been resolved. The few yorkies we are getting have all ready been rehomed. They have appointments for their spaying and are going to wonderful families. One family we have adopted to in the past, another which lost their yorkie of seventeen years to mention a couple. We do very thorough back ground checks on each applicant as well as home visits. The yorkies are always carefully assessed to pick up any potential problems that may arise in the future. They are always so different one to two weeks after they become trusting. I have seen yorkies just cling to a new owner, because I can feel they can sense the love and wanting this person has for their new yorkie. When a yorkie first comes into rescue it loved and treated like a special newcomer. Some change so much after the first week as their true personalities come out. I want to know as much about the yorkie as I can as it is not fair to the new owner or the yorkie if they are adopted out and all of a sudden they snap at someone. And, as we all know, they can snap! I have had excellent success with all of my adoptions. All of the members work hard on each adoption application. We can now do criminal background checks on line as well. That is something we could not do before. I have been involved in rescue for over ten years and have rehomed over 500 dogs and fostered over that number. Some of the little yorkies we get are just pitiful – those that have been abandoned at the shelter sick and dirty. And, those that the owners just no longer want or have time for, or just do not want to help house break the poor baby. My husband is a saint. I could not be in rescue without his help and patience. He fixes the scratched and chewed doors and screens and helps clean up the floors. Most of the seniors we get in are wonderful dogs. They are my favorite. So much they have seen and are aware of and I will never understand why someone just abandons them in the prime of their life. They are the most loyal and forgiving. Fortunately most yorkies are very resilient and I have seen them grasp their new lives with excitement and overwhelming gratitude. We are a non-profit group and awaiting our 501 c3. All proceeds go to help other yorkies in need, the sick ones and those that need to be updated with shots and spayed. I have a great deal of respect and undying love for the yorkie and my goal is to help all that I can. And remember, most important – Please spay and neuter, but, don’t get me started on that! Each time I go into a shelter I am just aghast at the number of beautiful dogs that only have a matter of time left.

Im the one that got the two members names mixed up and also the rescues. Let me try and explain. All this time Ive been mixed up I have been pming the worng member back about these Yorkies. she always seemed to not remember saying this and that when I pmed her and here all along it was the worng person.. i thought I had been talking to OKresuce Rusty's Momma and all along it was the other member RustysMom who had set me a message no wonder OKresuce Rusty's Momma didnt remember anything I said she had said in Pm's. anyways. RustysMom did not even Pm me letting me know that you was wanting these Yorkies, So I had noway of knowing until I talked to the breeder , when she said a rescue from NC I didnt know what she was talking about, She said I gave them her info. knowing I didnt.thinking I only talked to OKrescue. so thats where I got confused, If RustysMom would of told me in pm all about this then here wouldnt of been all this confusion and me worrying about where these Babies was going, cause I have never heard of your rescue before. then When the breeder told me that the Lab rescue who was suppose to pick up the Yorkies for you didnt come. she told me to go ahead and ask people on here if they would want a Yorkie. so thats what I did. then I got a not so nice pm from RustysMom telling me to more or less stay out of it, shes said Homes are waiting for these babies and the most experienced are dealing with the issue. Let's let the breeder and the rescue service she has chosen work. Well that kind of upset me. One this breeder didnt choose your rescue It was me that posted about her dogs and with out me posting about them, RustysMom passed this info to you. noone would of even known about them. so why tell me to stay out of it?? and also I had a called you and talked to you by phone before I even knew what was what . I then felt better after talking to you. But had concerns about the website that was posted as your Rescue site, there didnt seem to be any info in it, like it was not finished, no Happy endings on where the dogs that you have replaced or even updates. so when the breeder asked me about all this, I was honest and told her how I felt. Also I still have a concerns in that you both say these Yorkies already have homes. Im sure you probaly have a list of people wanting Yorkies but shouldent they come to meet these Yorkies first to make sure they are a good match? Please dont get me wrong. Im not saying your rescue is a good rescue or a bad rescue, I dont know either of you or the rescue. So i cant say one way or the other. all I can do is pray that these babies do find forever loving homes. If your posting because I had started a thread asking for homes for these babies. Dont worry I only started that post because the breeder ask me to, I also explained on that thread and through Pm's that these dogs will only be looking for homes if the ride for the rescue didnt show up again. and that I would save those pm's on people wanting them and let them know one way or the other. I also ask that that thread be closed. I too have rescued over 315 animals and rehomed them me and my husband. I know screening was needed I would also ask for a veterinary reference not just phone interviews, I would do home inspection prior to approval, and then even then I would like the person to come to meet the Yorkie and see if they was a Good fit. and I would want and exspect them to ask many questions too. I would not of just handed these Yorkies over to anyone. I would make sure they was a good fit for each other. I know this is long, sorry about that but I wanted you to understand all thats been going on. These are the breeders dogs and she will do with them as she wants, I was only trying to help her and do what she asked me to do.

| my reply to Yorkieshadow To this I will say, that I will not take the blame for your shortcomings Yorkie Shadow. I saved all my PM's and I fully identified that it was a NC rescue and Melinda in them, from me to you, so if you made a mistake in confusing me with RustysMomma and the Oklahoma rescue that is certainly not my problem. If you had saved your PM's you could have easily went back to see who you were talking with and not gone public with your confusion and created such an uproar pulling in so many members. Enough said. Those involved know exactly what I am speaking of.

Like I said the names were very close, I had been waiting an hoping that Rusty's Momma would soon get back with me. when you pm'ed me I truely thought it was her. I didnt know until a member here pointed it out to me. I agree it was my mistake. I said that over and over again. RustysMom and Rusty's Momma are so much alike, dont you agree? and I dont know what your problem is, all Ive been doing is trying to help these Yorkies find good homes. would it of killed you to explain to me that I had the wrong person? or to even send me a pm saying that the rescue and the breeder had talked before I found out from the breeder, It was a simple mistake. when the breeder said she had talked to the Lab rescue I gave her number to. I knew I hadnt gave her number to a Lab rescue. so I got on here and asked. I didnt know who this was or even if it was a resuce that had called this breeder, for all I knew it could of been a scam and puppymill. The breeder asked me to look into it, to make sure her dogs was really going to a rescue.Thats why I got on here and asked for peoples help. help to get to the bottom of it, and they did, No harm done every thing came out and the mix up were all fixed. SO WHATS YOUR PROBLEM??/ Why email me telling me to stay out of it??? You stay out of it. I had even came back to that thread and explained to everyone my mix up. and I had called NCrescue my self to make sure thats who they was.and I also told that on that thread. but it was after that that you sent me the pm. WHY? IT WAS MY MISTAKE I have explained this over and over again. MY Gosh its done. Get over it. everyone else has forgot it why dont you do the same. I did delete those emails because my inbox was full, I wish i would of kept them maybe I would of cleared up the confusion before then. The only emails I kept was from the members here who wanted me to keep their name back incase these dogs needed rehomed else where. Oh and the Rude one you sent me . Enough said. Those involved know exactly what I am speaking of too. and if you would stop sending people rude emails maybe this rescue would get more people willing to send their dogs to them to be rehomed.

| We adopted Camden who is related to some if not all the dogs in question here back in April when she was almost 2 1/2. Yorkieshadow and I have been very concerned and we have been trying to help generate interest in forever homes for these babies for a couple of months now. I know I have talked with people on YT as well as friends and neighbors. A couple of times I thought it was going to work out with people that I had talked with and unfortunately it didn't. I too, feel that rescue is a wonderful thing and I applaud the hard work and effort that goes into it. I'm sure it can be heartbreaking and very rewarding! Given the amount of emails, PMs and so forth that everyone involved has received, it's very easy to see how confusion came into play. I don't think shortcoming is a fair way to put it. This forum can be a wonderful resource for education, questions and helping one another out on researching information. Since there was confusion, we all reached out to members on here asking for any help or info so we could get to the bottom of things. I'm not sure why this has taken the tone that it has. The ONLY thing that really matters are these Yorkies and the love we have for them and the concern we have for them to find good, loving homes! I for one will sleep alot better once that has happened!

| answer YorkieShadow said "but it was after that that you sent me the pm. WHY?" Because some members feel that it was and is totally inappropriate for anyone to be helping "give away intact Yorkies" on a public forum.

| I'm not taking sides because I didn't follow everything from start to finish BUT didn't Yorkie Shadow say that the dogs were free BUT that the new owners had to pay for the spay / neuter which would be about $100 because the breeder intended on having them fixed before they went home? Again, not trying to take sides - just remember reading that. Anyway, really this is all over with since the dogs have been placed whether with rescue or privately so why is it even being dragged out on her and in such a valuable area where really the enphasis should be on listing more dogs in need. If we keep posting / arguing here in the rescue section it will only take away from those trying to post dogs in need. Just my .02. Elaine |

They will go to pet homes only, The breeder got their shots up to date and They will not go with their AKC papers. She has agreed to spay/ nuter these Yorkies before rehoming but you must pay for the spay. nuter probaly $100.00 The breeder only wanted me to help find the homes, it was her place to see that these people was screened, I tried to help with that all I could. As soon as I posted that thread thats when I got your pm after that thread was made. you just didnt want to see them with any YT memeber this is what you said. I am asking you to please stop trying to have Maxine's yorkies adopted by other Yorkie Talkers. Im sorry but there are some great Yorkie owners on this site. true maybe not all, we dont know who comes here on an open forum. but there are a lot of good people here that would and could give these babies good homes. Reese1 took one in and look at that girl now. She happy and beautiful. I wouldnt of just let them go to just anyone. Why do you seem to have such an attitude with me, what have I done to you?

| Yorkie Rescue In North Carolina - NC Yorkie Rescue, Inc. I have no idea what all of this is about, but I am very curious. Our rescue has NC members and I thought that we pretty much new all of the yorkie rescues in that state. I know of YTNR and YTRN. I know that UYR has homes in SC, but I do not think in NC. SO.....are you a new rescue? The only one I know of in Greensboro, NC is YTRN. We always like to know who is out there so that we can network once we have ascertained that a group is a good one. Oh..I am with Yorkie Haven Rescue and our website is: Yorkie Haven Rescue What is your website? I just tried to google for it and did not find it. Linda |
