| looking to give a Yorkie a good home hello, I am looking to take in a yorkie and give him or her a forever loving non abusive for ever home.I have a fairly big yard to play in.I have a 3 year old son who is wanting a yorkie extremely bad.WE baby sit for the neighbor quiet a bit they have a 4 pound little girl. She is absolutely adorable. My son and her are very very close. If the door is opened she will run out and come to our house. He is so attached to her.she is all he talks about.she plays with him, chases him fetches what ever he throws. He knows how to treat this small dogs.He can lay down and she is right there bellied up and they are fast asleep. If you go toward him with a sudden action she will eat you up she protects him and she doesn't even belong to us.It makes me sad because he wants one of these dogs and I just cannot and do not see me paying 300, 400 dollars or more.I understand they are not cheap but i have came a crossed many for 100.00 to 150.00 even free but when I find them they are gone quickly I am praying and believing for a yorkie for my son.If any of you know of one needing a good home please let me know.I have references if needed.Help make a child's dream come true..thank you and may god bless you all... |

Usually when a Yorkie is for free, it's a scam I'd look more into rescues and stuff and I'm still not sure if they'll adopt to you since you have a smaller kid, not sure.

| NO Idea why you are Confussed Just because my son is 3 doesn't make a bit of difference.age has nothing to do with wanting a certain breed of a dog.He may be 3 but very mature for his age he has the skills of a 5 yr old. very intelligent child. And I didn't come here to bring my child into this.He was wanting a yorkie so I was looking for one.and if they are going to be "Childish Adults" to post smart remarks then I will gladly go else where.that would be like me saying an elderly person was wanting a yorkie..being confussed???...Not here to argue either.so if you don't have anything positive to comment then DO NO post a reply to my add.Thank you ,. |

| not all yorkie babies are going to behave the same way.. they also need a lot of care and attention like babies do and puppies sleep A LOT so they need to be left to sleep. you should check to see if you can find an older one thats been around smaller children. a guy i work with said when he was younger his grandma had a yorkie and it snapped and bit his lip! just do a little research.. i did tons before i got my yorkie =)

| Honestly, if I were a Mom, I would not be searching for my young toddler to have a Yorkie (or small dog for that matter). If you have friends and family with them, that's great, have some play dates, but to want to get a Yorkie for a young toddler is probably not the route I would go. Also, being that you don't want to spend a lot of money, that may be a problem in the future, as most Yorkies at some point require expensive vet care, or 'if' an accident occurred with the young toddler and yorkie (hey Britney Spears' Yorkie broke it's leg by her kids playing with it), would you be prepared for that This isn't the route I would go if I had a young baby/toddler/child at home to care for Last edited by Wylie's Mom; 08-05-2008 at 08:25 AM. |
