| Update: Bella is doing so good. She actually slept in bed with me last night and snuggled up right against me. I introduced her to my kids last night and she was not scared of them and absolutely fell in love. She has pretty much decided to become my shadow which is great because I know that means she is starting to trust me. She actually let me take a look at her feet last night, I just wanted to make sure her pads were not cracked or split and they aren't, just very sensitive. My vet said to buy some booties for her for now. Will this help? Has anyone had to do this? As for potty training she is doing a wonderful job of using the pee pads. I am trying to get her used to going outside on grass but she just doesn't understand what the grass is and tries to get her feet off of it so for now we are going to use the pee pads. I did buy her a harness last night and she was fine with me putting it on her so that is good. All and all things are going well! I have to resize my pics as they are too big and then I will post them. Thanks guys! |

| Aww! I'm glad things are going well and you are forming a bond already! That is awesome that she gets along with your kids and I'm glad her feet are ok. Sounds like you are doing a fantastic job so far. Now get on those pictures!

| How wonderful things are going so well for both of you. Poor baby must have been comfy for the first time ever in her life and felt so secure sleeping next to her new mommy. You can try some plain old vasoline on her pads to bring them back to being soft. I use that on Bud's all winter. Rub it in good. Nothing will get on the furniture, etc. Good luck, |

Don't glob it on. Just rub it in very well. It works like magic on the pads. Keeps them soft and free from splitting in cold areas. My vet told me about it so I do it in the winter months only. Make sure you rub it in good. It absorbs into the pads and dosen't block sweat glands. I also read it in a Yorkie magazine. I've been doing it for four years. | |

| Awww. She seems to be settling in quite nicely. Look forward to hearing how she progresses. As far as her feet goes, I've used the cocoa butter stick before. Not to thick and 100% pure. It's very soothing and should help with the healing. As for the grass. I would just take it day by day. Maybe when you take her out, take a couple of pp pads with you and leave them in the grass somewhere, do your playing, take a walk or whatever and if she needs to go, maybe she'll go to the pads, thus, get the association that walking/going on the grass isn't so bad after all. Good Luck!!!
