Yorkie Rescue Colorado faces a dilemma. We were contacted yesterday and asked to take in a year and half old male yorkie who had his leg broken Thanksgiving Day. His family cannot afford to have his leg repaired. The vet has given us an approximate price of $3,000 to repair his leg. Seeing that the break happened a week ago it is a more difficult surgery.

What's the dilemma? We don't have $3,000 to fix this little boy. If we don't take him the owner is going to have him put down because the dog is in such pain. It breaks my heart to have to turn him away, knowing that the only thing preventing him from having a long happy life is money!

And people get angry when we ask a re-homing fee for the dogs we do make well. Little ones such as Reese are the reason.

Bless you for taking on the work of running a rescue! I'm sure you will find a great home for this girl...she sounds like she'll be perfect for someone.

So far she is doing pretty good but she is attaching to Trish! She follows her around like a little lamb and has absolutely nothing to do with anyone else in her house. Trish has introduced her to to the other Yorkies and although she isn't really having any part of them she isn't trying to attack them either. She only showed her teeth twice but didn't attack. We had an applicant come over and meet her but Sweetpea didn't really have anything to do with her. The lady just fell in love with her [who wouldn't? ... she is adorable]. We are going over to spend time with her tomorrow. I will update this again later.

It makes me feel great to know I can Help out other Yorkies by making mine Purty

I admire you all for all you do to help these sweet lil pups. All they want is a forever home and some one to love

Thanks, Lori!! We have so much that we still haven't gotten on there ... we're a tad computer challenged and have to depend on someone else to do it for us!! We will learn!

You're right ... they just need kindness and love ... we hope to home Sweetpea soon as she is attaching herself to Trish. It will be harder for her is she feels she is being taken from another human. Here's hoping!

Thanks, Lori!! We just got back from spending time with this little sweetie and I am shocked at the progress she has made! She still has a way to go but she was playing among the others and letting us hold her. She still keeps one eye on Trish and sticks right with her if she leaves the room but this is such an improvement over how she was ... it's amazing! We believe we have the perfect home for her but still have a little followup to do. Thank you so much for caring!

Just wanted you all to know that our little Sweetpea has found a wonderful, perfect "forever home"!! An Angel lady, even knowing all her flaws, has adopted her! Isn't that amazing?

We are so happy for her and will update you all as to how she is doing as soon as Trish gets back in town. She got stranded due to bad weather and we are hoping she will be home tomorrow!
