| This little one is already in a foster home where all of her needs will be taken care of. They do need donations to help with her care as it will be long term. Injuries like this take a long time to recover from. Hard on the dog and the foster mom. I let them know I was here if they decided that her care would be to ongoing for the foster home. Yes, this makes us sick but please put your energy towards thinking good things for this little girl. Pray for her and her care giver and try not to let hate fill your heart. The person that did this could care less about how you or the dog feels, so it's wasted energy. We see things like this in rescue every day~ I will be talking with the shelter manager tonight so if there is any more news I will post it.

| The shelter just called me. They received my donation check and letter and wanted to call and update me and Thank me. Ember is with a Foster Mom. She is one of the staff members Mother's (who actually just lost her husband) - So Ember is being loved very much. This may be a perfect match and Ember might just stay there forever!!! Ember went to see a Vet and they think that Ember is high allergic to 'something' - She is actually itching and biting herself and as a result her hair has fallen out. YAY SHE DIDN'T BURNED!!!!! I told them I am so relieved to hear that she wasn't abused like originally thought! What a relief, THANK GOD that no one hurt her like that. I am still sad and concerned that she is still hurting, b/c she is obviously in a lot of pain and discomfort. The shelter still needs donations, so please do so if you were planning to. Thanks! |

| http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/...?petid=9536646 **Update - CCAS would like to thank everyone that has gotten in touch with us and cared about Ember! She has had her first vet visits and is doing well! One of our wonderful volunteers has opened up her heart and home to Ember and is giving her the medical attention and constant care that she requires. Ember's diagnosis is not clear at this time. While she may have been burned, she also may have a long unchecked case of mange or other skin disease. CCAS would like to stress that NEGLECT is still very much ABUSE. If it is indeed disease, had Ember received the proper veterinary case when she became sick, there is no way it could have gotten to this point. As always, we hope that Ember's story will shine a light and encourage anyone who suspects abuse or neglect to report the situation immediately! Time will tell Ember's doctors more and we will update everyone on her progress and prognosis! **Original Posting - Please don't look away - This very special girl is Ember. Little Ember has come to us with some sort of chemical burns over most of her body. This is one of the most shocking and horrific cases of animal abuse that we have seen at our Shelter. How anyone could intentionally harm this sweet girl, we cannot comprehend. Through all this hurt, Ember has been a sweet little trooper, even giving us some gentle kisses through her pain. Ember must have private veterinary care immediately. Our Shelter simply does not have the funds to provide the extraordinary vet care that Ember will need to make her well and whole again. Our Shelter has a special needs medical fund to help animals like Ember, but our resources are sadly depleted. Please help us help Ember by donating to her care - We are not going to let Ember be another statistic - We will save her! |

| Email from the shelter: Hi Carole - I'm so sorry for the delay in getting back to you! It has been emergency after emergency around here. We are crazy full, so I am hitting up every rescue I know. I've got two going out next weekend, so I'm putting them into private kenneling to free up some space and juggling my butt off. Anyway, Ember is about five pounds and is about a year old. I hope this information helps. I know that the family can use clothes and bedding! That's what she needs. Another suggestion is maybe Petsmart gift cards for $5. They can add up when you get a few of them and it's cheaper to mail.
