| Heated dog beds? Anyone make some type of heated dog beds? I'm looking for something that you don't plug in (I don't wanna worry about fires), so preferably something that I can put in the microwave or something. Suggestions? |

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Hey Kyle, I saw some of these the other day in Walgreens of all places. Actually, they were for cats though - but since Yorkies are small, I'm sure they'd work perfect for them too However, I'm not sure how much they were or if they plugged in (I know, big help huh? lol) if you want me to though, I can go back and look for ya

| I just went to PetSmart yesterday and purchased a "SnuggleSafe" for baby Natalie.... just pop it in the microwave for 5 minutes and it kept her snuggly warm throughout the entire night! I didn't think it would stay warm that long, but it did - and I felt comfortable with her not being harmed by cords, wires, hot water and the like.... works perfect for us! (If I recall it was around 40.00) -

| I'm going to look for them at Walgreens too! Thanks for starting this thread. My little Lily is starting to have problems maintaining her body temp so I have been looking for an alternative to a heating pad because I'm afraid of her chewing the cord. This sounds like it might be exactly what I was looking for!

| I had posted something on here about heated beds and a lot of people responded that they use the heated discs you put int he microwave. We are getting those. Found them cheap on dog.com. One person replied it was still warm in the morning. This seems like a safe way to keep or doggies warm. They also come with free cover and there are others you can buy. They are like 20.00 and I believe they are the snuggle safe. We are ordering ours today. Cheaper than PetSmart or Petco. Our PetSmart local does not carry them.

Just be very careful with the Snuggle safe. They are great if used properly, but they do get very hot. Be sure they stay covered as the dog can get burned badly, also always check for leaks every time you use them. They sometimes start to leak as they get older.

| I intend on making some rice heat sacks for my babies, I don't know how long they will hold the heat but still a great alternative to electrical anything. If anyone is interested I would be happy to make some extras. I'll post some pictures of the ones I make this weekend. I was thinking about trying to sell them but didn't know if there would be a market for them. Guess maybe there is.
