| *Pet Flys Uncle Monkey mini* Is there anyone intersted in selling me their Pet Flys Uncle Monkey in the mini size? I'm hoping maybe someone had one and their little one grew out of it. I could purchase one new but thought I would check and see if I could pick up a barely used one first. |

| Thanks, it turns out that one is the next size up but it is definitely a good starting price. It took me a couple of weeks to decide if I want a Baby Doe or an Uncle Monkey and I think I have settled on an Uncle Monkey. I'm planning on getting a mini as my little one is 3.4 lbs and done growing. I thought maybe someone here might have one sitting around that their fluff out grew. If not then I will order a new one. If I can't find an Uncle Monkey mini then I will get one of the Baby Doe minis that I have found. The Baby Doe is no longer being made but it is my understanding that new stock of Uncle Monkeys and others should be in stock the middle of September or so. I guess we'll see. Thanks so much for the ebay suggestion. I will keep and eye on ebay and see if a mini happens to come up. |

| Yes, they certainly are darling! Rotten of Pet Flys to have so many cute desigsn! Have you seen the two I have been considering? I have had a terrible time choosing. How ridiculous is that? I look at the photos and think gee maybe the other one . . . My big plan was NOT to have a closet full of carriers but that is starting to appear unlikely. I like them both and darn it, what if Pet Flys comes out with a new design that's just as cute!!! Thanks so much for the ebay suggestion. I really appreciate you taking the time to notice there was one on ebay. I will keep my eye on there. Last edited by imdll; 09-01-2011 at 08:13 AM. |

As far as I am aware the only fabric or sueded part on the Baby Doe carrier is the actual Baby Doe aplique. Do you have the mini or the small? How do you find it for hauling around? I toyed with the idea of the small as that would give Lu more stretch out room but she mostly sleeps curled up anyway so all that extra space may be a waste. Lu is all of 3.4 lbs, 8" at the shoulder and about 8" from nape of neck to base of tail. I thought I might get more use out of the mini as it is may be a bit more managable size for everyday? My thoughts were to use it as a safe place for her when we are out visiting rather than always being on someone's lap and as a bed away from home and maybe a snuggle spot at home. (She doesnt' have a shortage of snuggle spots, but still. . . ) I have a Sleepypod mini (pink) that she sleeps in during the day but it seems a bit confining with the top on because the only spot that is 9" high is the very center and it's only 11" across the interior. It's fine for some things like short trips but I thought that a touch more space and something a bit more more solid on top might be a good idea in some circumstances such as when kids are involved. Lu does fine with kids but it might be nice to have a solid carrier that can handle being bumped accidentally. I have not seen either carrier in person and have wondered which would look nicer. I have worried that the tone of the Baby Doe might be too red or the tooling might be to busy looking? I like the tones of the Uncle Monkey and the leopard print. (Man I'm decisive! ) Both are adorable! It sort of seemed to me that the Baby Doe was maybe a bit more "cute" and the Uncle Monkey might be a bit more "classic" in flavor? Does that makes any sense? Good grief I really don't want to end up wit both of them, although I suppose there are worse things. Hmmm, I hadn't considered the sueded part on the Uncle Monkey getting dirty. Have you had an issue with that or are you just trying to avoid finding out? Oh my goodness it is nice to talk to someone who has some practical experience with these and has more than one. Sorry for rambling.

| Hmmm. . . I posted a reply but got a message that it wouldn't be posted until seen by a moderator? I don't think I said anything objectionable. Have I broken a rule that I'm not aware of? I'm not exactly familiar with the whole forum thing so if I've done or said something I shouldn't I do appologize. |

| Oh that makes sense about me being a newbie. One of the administrators broke both wrists? That can't be any fun! As far as my post is concerned it wasn't a big deal. I just asked your opinion on the appearance of the two carriers, which one you like the look of best, what size of carrier you have and if you find it clunky etc. I was toying with the idea of the small but Lu is only 3.4 lbs and a mini will be fine I'm sure. I bit the bullet though and ordered the Baby Doe mini about a minute ago. I found it for $85 new and couldn't pass it up. Ahhhh!!! I'm freaking out, I'm absolutely terrible about making decisons as I never want to make the wrong one. You would think this was a life decision, it's just a carrier for goodness sake! It's going to take forever to get here as I live in Canada and anything that has to cross the border takes a ridiculously long time. I may die of anticipation in the mean time! I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | That's a good way to decide which to get, boys are often "little monkeys" and girls are "little dears". Plus, girls need more, which costs more “doe”.

Hehe, I like the way you think. I tried that line of reasoning but by the time I'm done (does that actually every happen?) I'll probably end up with both. They are both so dang cute!
