| Pajama/Clothing Pattern Hi everyone! The weather has been rather cold and Zoë is not a winter child. She loves wearing things when it's cold out, otherwise she shakes! (She's infamous for wearing PJs underneath sweaters!) Unfortunately she's outgrown almost all of her winter gear. Zoë's a very awkward size (11" long, 7.5" neck, and 11-12" chest and just under 5 pounds) it's been a challenge clothing her. Money is really tight for me right now, I'm a struggling Master's student (thank you US Government for loans!). While I'd love fix things by buying Zoë wonderful things from the amazing vendors here I just can't afford to. I was able to get some fabric on sale so I wanted to make her clothes from that. Unfortunately, while I was able to make her a dress I haven't been able to make her anything else. I cannot find any patterns for pajamas or hoodies. As this is a very caring and kind community I did not know if anyone knew of any sites or free or reasonably priced patterns. I truly appreciate this community and I hope no one takes this as any way disrespectful. I want the best for my little one but on a very limited budget it's difficult. I've already purchased the material and I'm willing to put my all in to this but creating a pattern from scratch is just beyond my capabilities! I want to thank everyone in advance for any responses or ideas that anyone may have! -Vicky and Zoë |

| go to sewingpatterns.com and you can find patterns there. I usually find the pattern, write the number down and go to the store and get it.

| Hey everyone! Thanks so much for the suggestions! I found 2 patterns at Walmart for about $8 each. One is an XS pattern that's made to be 8" long (but probably fits Zoe perfect otherwise) and EXACTLY the kind of PJs I wanted for her. (This pattern Simplicity 4325) Then I got the pattern everyone suggested (Simplicity 3939), that's a bit too big, and not exactly the design I'd wanted. I figured I'd take them home, get a basic idea and return one of the two patterns. Well first I tried making the XS PJs and then figuring out how to make them bigger. (I'm not sure if I'll even be able to do that, but that's besides the fact.) I can't even figure out the FIRST STEP! Ugh!!! I don't think this is the right place but since I'm not sure where the right place is I'll ask my next question. What are your thoughts on how I should approach this? I need to figure out the steps, first of all, and then how to lengthen the pattern. Should I just do my best and hand-draw it at the desired size? Or should I photocopy it and enlarge it that way? Ideas or anyone that might be of some help in me making these stupid PJs? -Vicky |
