I have 2 yorkies and yes....they both use them. I wash them once a week..You won't want to wash them with anything else because, even though they have been washed they still hold a scent that the dogs can smell..you won't be able to smell it but the dogs can. And, yes they are water proof.

| I also got my washable pads from www.valethics.com I love them, they are great. They absorb twice as much as the disposable ones. And the price can't be beat!! I have 6 dogs that use them so I wash the pads about everyday. I just use a little detergent, no fabric softner it is not good for them. And they come out smelling good and looking new every time. Best money I spent. I use to buy disposable pads every week, I ended up paying $60 a month for pads. But then I got the reusable ones and have saved so much money since I got them. I will never go back to the disposable pads again. Oh and as for your question on whether the dogs use them as well as the disposable ones, yes they do. I was worried when I got them if they would go on them. I put the pad down and they used it right away, no transition, no problems at all. I was even worried that they wouldn't be able to tell the difference between these pads and their blankets because I thought it might confuse them. But they had no problems, always went on the pad and they always knew the difference. It was sooo easy. I am so glad I bought them!!!
