| How big is Wookie??? Don't you multiply the 8 week old weight by 3 to estimate the adult weight? By those calculations, she will probably be between 4.5-5 lbs. That is tiny. But, yes, in general I understand Silkys to be bigger. I would ask this breeder how big both the parents are. That will also give you a good idea of how big this little baby will be. She sure is a cutie! Maybe the Silky that she came from is a smaller one. Quote:

| What a precious little baby girl! She does look all yorkie. Have you gotten any info on the parents?

| I had a silky way back when... And they are VERY close to the Yorkies... their coat does not get nearly as long, but it still grows long.. their heads are a bit bigger their frames bigger and their bodies are longer, they are just bigger dogs yes... but are there breeders that will breed down their size just like breeders of the "teacup" (yes I know there is no such thing, I am just using the freaking word to get my point across ) yorkies. Their coats are a bit different too, my silky was so much easier to groom! the hair was a bit thinner and more silky. Some person may have the mix and never know it cause they are Sooo close.. But the fact that this gal is not trying to "pass them off" as Purebred yorkies, says something to me... at least she's honest!! I don't really agree with the cross breeding thing... But like I said... at least she's honest! If she gives you a good health guarantee then all the better! If she is just to be a pet then who cares?? she'll look like a yorkie for sure! You will probably never know that she is a mix... but demand pix of the parents, that will tell you everything you need to know! You can see with your own eyes what they look like! and what your girl will look like!

| I have been following this thread and am sooooooooo happy for you! The pics are just gorgeous..I hope it works for you!! Darla's parents are a yorkie dad (4 pounds) and a bichon mom (8 pounds)..Darla definetly has the yorkie qualities and is only 3 pounds at 6 months old...the vet said he is sure she is at her full weight so she took over her dads size too!! In fact the whole litter is around Darla's size. I cant wait to hear more information!! Keeping fingers crossed!! Dawn |
