Here is Baby Blessing in her cha cha coat and hoodie I knitted for her, that cha cha yarn and fun fur yarn is so soft and washes up beautifully and comes in such pretty vibrant colors. It took three skeins for this as I doubled the yarn in knitting it up. Patti

Okay, you have me hooked. They are so pretty and look so soft. I would love to learn how to knit and start knitting sweaters for my furbabies. Is it hard to learn and how long does it take to learn how to do it and how long does it take to make a small sweater for a dog?? Oh and when you have a sweater that is knitted, does it hold up well?? Can you wash and everything without it wearing out and keep it in nice shape for awhile. I have never had a knit sweater or anything knitted for that matter so I have no clue about knitted sweaters and how to knit. Also, excuse my lack of knowledge, but what is a shein? Wow, I know, alot of questions but I am really intrested in this.
This would be so fun to learn and something to do in my spare time.

I would be more than happy to help you learn to make them for your furbabies, just send me a pm and I will do all I can to help you, yes these wash up beautifully and are so soft and don't stretch out of shape. I have knitted for fifty two years and have made tons of sweaters, I like using the circular needles. There is a kit where it has just the circular needles along with the jumper cords, so that an extra cord can be added as the stitches on a row are increased on a project, the cords are threaded onto the needles and then threaded when needed, and unthreaded as needed gosh I just reread that and it sounded a bit tounge twisted anyway those that knit will know what I mean. It's got a bit in the middle which shows you how to knit. It's really good. I pretty much managed to teach myself from the guide in this book. It's taken a few goes to get it right but It's definitely worth the feeling of accomplishment!

BabyBlessing: I love your tip about using two bits of yarn. I love all that new fluffy wool stuff but haven't been able to figure out how to make it work to an 8ply pattern. Now I can make Dixie a high fashion jumper! (Not that she really needs any additions to her wardrobe - she's better dressed than me!). D&D Send Baby Blessing puppy kisses!

What size needles does it say to use on the 8 ply pattern, and what is the gauge?
An 8 ply would be like two four plys held together. Can you get the fun fur over there where you are? If you tell me the gauge I can maybe tell you the size needle to use with the fun fur. In using the fun fur two held together are bulky enough for me anymore strands would make it toooooo bulky. 8 ply is really going to be thick or bulky. Have you changed to a larger needle to see if you can get the gauge you need? Know what you mean about them being better dressed than us LOL same here with Baby Blessing, she now has her own little dresser. Friends came to visit today and she loved Baby Blessing's sweaters so she is coming back in two weeks to learn to knit sweaters for her little Schitzu (not sure if I spelt that right) Hope so

Hi, I use 4mm needles (aka #8). I had to google the term gauge but I think it's what my book calls "tension" which is: 22st and 30 rows to 10cm over stocking stitch. However I don't think my knitting's that size one row works out to about half a cm. I just knit the pattern for one size smaller than the dog. LOL! That seems to work just fine. I like a nice warm wooly jumper to put on Dixie while I'm at work in winter (Our house isn't very warm).

I really love making stuff for my pooches it gives me such a feeling of achievement. But I also like getting parcels in the mail from Trade Me (that's the kiwi version of e-Bay).
