![]() Anyway, to answer your question... The type of backing people choose (two bands, alligator clip or French barrette) is really a matter of personal preference. Sometimes it takes some experimenting to see what works best for you and your furbaby. Two bands: This is the standard backing to any bow. I use two durable, high quality, professional bands. Some people prefer to upgrade to a barrette or clip because they find it easier to attach the bow - since they don't want to fuss with bands and find bands slightly harder to work with. Alligator Clips: The alligator clips I use are high quality, nickel plated and tested to be lead free. They have tiny teeth (which do not damage the hair) and they hold very well, even in fine hair and those with little hair. I tested their grip on just a few strands of my Bella's hair and they stayed put! I've had similar feedback from customers saying that their very active little ones keep the bows with clips in their hair all day. I find they are super easy to just clip in - and yes, this is my personal preferred backing. ![]() French Barrettes: The French barrettes I use are also nickel plated and tested to be lead free. I find they are slightly more fragile than the alligator clips however naturally, still of high quality. Many people prefer the barrettes simply because of their design and it is what works best for them - again, it's a personal choice. Tip: When attaching a bow with clip or barrette backing, I generally suggest you make a topknot (or a casual waterspout) first with a band, then attach the bow with clip/barrette below the band. This just gives it that additional security and keeps it from potentially sliding off the top. Anyway, I hope this helps somewhat!
