| Buy a book - help a yorkie -- new yorkie book raises funds for puppy mill rescues Congratulations, YTers!! We're 1/3 of our way to goal!In just 2 days, your book orders have generated nearly $100 in donations to the Yorkshire Terriers rescued last weekend by Missouri Humane Society. Humane Society of Missouri- hsmo.org The record-holding order so far is held by YTer Jayme, who ordered 7 (seven) copies! My goal is to raise $300 for donation to these sadly abused little babies, through sales of my new book, HOW THE YORKIE RESCUED SANTA--An Adventure in Doggerel. You can read about it on my website: Carol S. Porter - Writer, Editor, Speaker. Until March 20, ALL PROFITS from YT sales go to the Humane Society, earmarked for the Yorkies. Cost: $8 plus $1.50 S & H. If you're interested in a fun gift for a child or a fellow Yorkie fanatic, here's your chance to get a jump on this year's holiday shopping and help a needy animal. To order, email me at carolporter04@yahoo.com (easier for me to process orders there) A thousand thank-yous, wonderful people... Carol and O |

| This is my first kids' book. And actually, it was written as a gift for 2 women friends of mine, who appear in the story as characters, along w/ their 2 grandchildren, zack and tiera, who were then 6 and 7. Together, these 4 join Oliver to get Santa out of a crisis. Oliver is actually the narrator of the story. I just took it down in dictation. The whole process was tons of fun for me. The story works on both adult and kid levels. I'm already thinking about a sequel to this Oliver story -- the next one won't have a holiday theme. It's percolating in my head.... Stay tuned. Other than that, I've written one "serious" adult book about an architect at the St. Louis World's Fair. Most of my writing has been in the realm of magazine features. I also lead creative writing workshops. This is probably waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than you wanted to know!!! But thanks for asking. Carol
