| Interesting...I just read this whole thread. I think it depends on how pet friendly the places are...I live in upstate NY and always take my dogs in Home Depot and no one has ever said anything to us. My local Joann's complains if I don't bring one of the furkids! Florida is very pet friendly and I have taken the dogs in most places there. One restaurant even brought us meatballs of the dogs. Of course, we were sitting at the outside dining area. We have been back there several times since they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Downtown Venice is cool too and I have never had a problem at any restaurant that has outside dining. In NY thats a whole different ball game. |

| I have brought Odie Everywhere, whether it be the grocery store, walmart, zellers, bank, getting my nails done, even Eastside Mario's he is in his carry purse and doesn't usually make a peep. So no one knows that he is there. But if someone notices... they always smile and comment on the cute factor.. I have yet to encounter any bad vibes

| when Cricket was our only Yorkie and she was so tiny,, i never left her,, took her everywhere,, in her carry bag,, which looked (to the unknowing) like a nice purse,,,and she never made a sound,, we went EVERYWHERE! Albertsons, Kroger, another local grocery,,fast food places,, nice restaurants,, nothing was ever said,, unless like a waitress "recognized" the bag,, and would ask,, smiling,, and i'd tell em,, and they make over the "cute" thing,, no problem,, and took her to WalMart with me almost daily,, in her carry bag,, in the cart,, making NO sound or mess or smell,, certainly more clean that a lot of people in the store,,,but then the one fateful day,, Psycho WalMart worker, saw us, ,only because some ladies recognized the bag,, asked,, and then wanted to "see", i wouldn't take her out of the bag as her shots were not complete,, but did turn the bag so they could all see Cricket,, and everyone was OOooohing and AAAaaahhhing,, over how precious she was,, 3 ladies shopping,, 2 ladies working, then came PSYCHO Worker,, she came to see what everyone was looking at,, and it was like someone flipped a switch on her!!! she got IRATE!! Demanding I leave HER store!!! carrying on loudly, ,rudely, ,telling me we HAD to leave HER Store!! IMMEDIATELY!!! how the health department would close down the store in an instant!! all the ladies shopping were like in shock!! for a second I was,, then i got HOT!,, tried to talk to the lady,, asking to speak with her superior,, or the store manager,, she became livid!! the other ladies all backed away,, replused by her behavior,,and before i got angry,, i gave her my buggy (which was full of things), telling her she could put the things back then,, since we had to leave immediately,,she shoved the cart away to the side,, continuing to rant on me about this 16 oz. DANGEROUS DOG!! I walked away from her with her still ranting,, the 3 ladies shopping followed us a way,, as I think they thought the woman was scary,, lol,, she followed me all the way to the front of the store until i was leaving the building!!! you'd have thought i had a 120 lb Pit Bull!!! then the Nutty Woman asked me if I'd like her to HOLD my cart full of shopping! HA!!! I came home and tried to call the store manager,, who i was told wasnt there,, so I contacted Corporate,, and i got an explanation and a slight apology,,,then quickly received a personal call from the store manager here,, who explained no dogs are allowed on account of the food,, so i told him they really need to post signs saying they are not pet friendly,, and they REALLY need to get rid of the wild birds who fly around and poop in the store!! He said they couldnt do much about the birds,,and asked the womans name who practically accosted me,, i have no idea of her name,, but could easily identify her and told him to ask the 2 ladies working in womens clothing,,they know who she is,, sadly the woman still has a job there! and I tell her everytime i see her,, "I'm SO sorry you still have a job here" lol,, evil i know,, but i do,,she makes like she has NO clue what i'm speaking of,, (I think shes too heavily medicated actually,, or needs to be!) anyway,, now with 3 Yorkies,, i'm ok with leaving Cricket here when i have to be gone,, but still love to take the girls to places we ARE welcomed,, I still would love to have Cricket declared a "service" dog,, and get away with it,,,

| Wow, my home depot is very accepting of dogs. They even let them walk around on leash. This might be because it is right across from a petsmart though . . . Quote:

| I took my sisters 4 pound yorkie into Walmart once to pick up ONE thing and then leave and there was no way I would leave him in the car. Noone who worked there said anything to me even the girl who checked me out and clearly saw him. But get this...some other CUSTOMER came up to me and started yelling at me that "I needed to get that dog out of here" and rambling on about how he was dirty and they don't allow dogs. Well she had dirty filthy kids with her and I flat out said "I'm suprised they let those things in." Now, of course, I did it so the kids did not hear but cmon lady you and your children are dirtier than my dog. In my opinion, if they let babies in, they should let dogs in. Babies cry, poop, scream while my puppy baby would never. |

| I've taken Legacy and Impreza into Pizza Hut with me twice now. They didn't care they just said how cute they were and talked about dogs with me while I waited for my pizza to be done. I think if I tried that at any other, they wouldn't allow it because it's a food place. |

| I take bunny everywhere....Here in South Florida they are very pet friendly. The only place I EVER had a problem was Target and no one said anything except one worker. I just left....I figure if they aren't pet friendly....I don't need to shop there... Grocery Stores are understandable though....I've taken her to the mall, hair salon all with no problem. She's always in a carrier or in my bag....I've been taking her to restaurants lately i just leave her in my bag and i put some pieces of bread in there lol |
