| No tears baby shampoo Hi all: Not sure if this is the right section but I need some advise on shampoo for the furkids. I usually use an oatmeal/aloe based shampoo for them but the vet that I get it from is closed (?). Well I recently and about 2years ago used Mink Sheen on GiGi and had a terrible experience with some kind of skin breakout to the extent that the more recent use resulted in the vet diagnosing her with a malignant tumor. She thankfully did not have what he said but I can not use Mink Sheen on her again. We just went thru 3days of horror and doom thinking she had to have part of her tail removed .....thankfully it is now a week later and she is doing fine and the growth (?) is healing. But that still leaves us with the dilemma of what shampoo to use. I usually use Johnson baby shampoo on their (both my Yorkies) head and face. So I am wondering if it is ok to use on their full body or is it too strong for them?? Any comments Tina |

| This shampoo is made gentle for children, so I dont see a problem with useing it. I have used human shampoo and cond on my Yorkies before and they have never had any problems with it, they both have beautiful hair. |

Lovin' 2 Girls Donating Member | If there's no ill effects on their face, it should be OK for the body. btw, I prefer Pet Silk. They carry a tearless puppy shampoo, also.

| I guarantee that you can find the shampoo that you were getting from your vet's office online somewhere. Put it in a google search and see what comes up. I also use no tear baby shampoo on my furbabies' heads.

| I use no tear baby shampoo on Zoey's head. I used it on my own hair tho and it seemed to be very drying. I bought Aveeno (baby) soothing relief hair and body wash. It seems less drying and is still no tears. Glad your baby is doing better.

| Jeffers Cedar Shampoo I ordered a free catalog from Jeffers Pet Supply right before I was going to get my Yorkie. It arrived in 2 days! I also Got a coupon for $5 off my first order. I made an order including 'Jeffers Nature's Best Cedar Shampoo' which was only about $4. It came in 3 days! (perfect timing, the day before I was getting my Yorkie!) I have used the shampoo on her and I love it It is a nice scent and left her coat soft and silky (it will last me a long time because you dilute it 1 part concentrate to 8 parts water) The cedar and eucalyptus is supposed to keep fleas away and the aloe and vitamin E is supposed to be soothing to the skin. I will continue using this one on my baby

| oh Tina, I am so sorry to hear about your baby's shampoo problem . . . I tried baby shampoo when Tiger was a baby as that was what my breeder recommended. But only for a short while when I read on this site that human shampoos are not really good for our babies . . . although I know some have had much success through the years. I hope you find the perfect one that would best suit Gigi's hair. I tried mink sheen once and it did not agree with both my babies as well but it sure does to soooo many . . . .Both my babies use petsilk products and I really love it on them. |
