| I was at Chapters looking for a book i read about in a magazine, which they didn't have, but i picked up this book instead The Complete Holistic Dog Book. Home Health Care for our Canine Companions by Jan Allegretti and Katy SOmmers, DMV I bought this book because after reading Dr. Pitcairn's book on home cooking i wanted even more information. This is an AMAZING book. it covers home cooking, home cooking/with kibble, talks about whole body health. and i LOVE the back section which breaks down the dogs body into parts and helps you trouble shoot health issues and find a natural way to fix them which i love. i'm tired of going to the vet for small things (although since starting home cooking 4 months ago we havne't been since!!) and wanted to find ways to try and fix it myself. Already i've read SO many good ideas for Layla's itching her paws and can't wait to see if they work! Great book!!! |

| Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Oh, cool! Did you find the home cooking sections a bit less "techy" than Pitcairns? Sometimes his book can turn people off to homecooking bc it it so exacting....so I'm always on the lookout for a book that tries to keep it simple. Good find!

| i found it a lot easier to understand for EVERYTHINg.. lol.. it is like they are just talking to you... they go in depth with food and what is good what is bad... there are no receipes..well there are 4 i think.. they tell you what they feed their dogs... one is a vegitarian and so is her dog... but my favorite part is the back with the different ways to treat injuries and illnesses.... SUCH a great book... |
