first I tries a gentle Puppy Shampoo on Suzi... It caused her to have Dandruff. Then the Vet reccomended a product that they sold .
It is DVM Tearless Shampoo, ultrasensitive. Tearless, soap free hypoallergenic. works very well .

Well, I tried the Plush Puppy shampoo and conditioner but am unimpressed. The shampoo (which I eventually diluted 15:1 ) still left Tootsy's cottony coat dry and very knotted. I always comb her out before her bath and then I normally don't have a problem with knots. This shampoo just left her hair in a mass of knots. The conditioner was only okay. It didn't leave her hair shiny and did not help get the knots out. I tried it undiluted the last time, but there was little difference. I used the Swishy Coat and it does make the coat nice and straight and shiny but it doesn't stay that way for long. I don't think it is worth using it unless you are going to a show.

So, what next to try for my Tootsy's cottony coat, I wonder. Pet silk or Summerwind (meggie find this conditioner very good) Cowboy Magic. I am going broke rather quickly now! I simply must find something that leaves her coat silky, shiny and tangle free. Any suggestions for a cottony coat?

I LOVE Earthbath but its really the only shampoo I've ever used... Its smells so yummy and leaves Wall-E's coat so soft. I think I want to try Petsilk though just to see what all the talk is about.

Sorry to hear that Yvonne. Kenzo is fine with the plush puppy. Hanzo also. Right now I put Kenzo in oil (laser lites mattless magic product) every two weeks and I also use the crown royale shampoo and conditioner on Kenzo. Hanzo is unfortunately not ok with coat handle clarifying shampoo, coz he scratches all over (it seems like he suffers from itchy skin problem) but he is fine with plush puppy "the conditioning shampoo with evening primerose one". I will try the crown royale shampoo and conditioning on Hanzo and will tell you how I find them.

Kenzo is ok with the crown royale. The problem of crown royale is the smell is not really that kind of smell you might light but I can handle it.

Please let me know when you try another shampoo, ok.

My yorkie has a cottony coat as well. Nothing like the long silky hair I see on some of the yorkies here and it has be quite depressed. I'm going to definitely go and try Milksheen and Cranberry fields - hoping they sell this in Petco as I'm waiting for the boyfriend to get home so we can pick him yorkies essentials. I have quite the list of shampoos everyone here recommended so I'm sure I'll find something. I would also love to read about others who's yorkies have a cottony coat and how they've managed to deal with it.

There was another thread about Cowboy Magic to get out the tangles and mattes. When I bought the magic for mattes which works better that anything I have ever used (my little Fannie has cotton and it mattes up to the skin) they had a bottle of shampoo that was free with it. I haven't tried it yet but if it works like the detangler I will love it.
My other two Yorkies have nice hair and are not much problem.. She had gotten to where she did not like to be brushed.

As promised, I am letting you know about a new shampoo and conditioner I have just tried. I tried John Paul Oatmeal Shampoo and John Paul Oatmeal Conditioning Rinse. I found both products the best I have ever used! No more matts or tangles and Tootsy is lovely and shiny. I think I have my found my HG products. I had lost all hope! Phew, perhaps my bank balance can start to recover now!! I have spent a small fortune trying SO many shampoos, conditioners, sprays, detanglers etc etc. without success ...until now.

In all honesty, I use Aveeno Baby Shampoo on their heads (no tears), and whenever Ginger's allergies are acting up, it's the only shampoo I use.

I use Coat Handler, All Systems, Pet Silk, Pure Paws is okay. Here's where you find them. Cheap shipping without having to buy large quanities. I love a few...but Coat Handler 15-1 is the house staple.

I wouldn't use any hair care products found in Petsmart. Love the store, but the products are inferior. They are not cost effective either...just easy access if you haven't planned ahead. In that event, I'd use Pantene Pro. It's better than any product I've tried in a petstore.
