Oh no! I am so sorry it didn't work for you! Does your girl have a different type of coat? Like a cotton one or a modified silk coat? I was wondering if maybe that was the problem Jadens and Jewelina's laid flat once they were washed and then once I blow dried them and brushed them they just got silkier and silker. I am so sorry it didn't work out for you That is such a bummer! I have used Cranberry Fields also and it is a great product. The conditioner is very silky so perhaps that will work better for you!

Great suggestion...I also emailed and asked for a free sample. They have shipped mine out, too. I can't wait to try this out on Harley!

Rut roh I hope we have better results. It's so hard to find one that I like in comparison to PS. If you want to try CS you can have my bottles. I didn't like it at all. It was used four times (kept thinking I was doing something wrong) so there is a good amount left. PM me if you want it

I honestly don't know WHAT went wrong for us. Tatum's hair is very silky. I don't even brush her daily and she rarely tangles. I'm telling you.... after the bath, her hair looked like it did one time when I had to use an antifungal shampoo for ringworm on her. That time the vet had told me to use it alone and not with a conditioner but I couldn't do it because after the bath, her hair was just a big ball of tangles. I know I shook the MinkSheen up really good to mix it and left it on her for 3 minutes. Have no idea....

That is very strange! Hm...depending on what size bottle you used, you could try putting some conditioner on her next time after you shampoo her. Maybe that would help with the tangles she gets and you could just use it as a shampoo. That way if you got a larger bottle at least you'd get some use out of it....

Well when I ordered the gallon, I figured with more than the majority liking it, it must be good and with two dogs........it was just more economical to get the gallon than the smaller bottle...........I will shake the dickens out of that bottle before I use it. ROFL

I have 3 Yorkies with 3 different hair types. Tinka's coat is cottony and dull. I've tried everything and nothing makes it shine. The closest we've come to a shine is using the Sea Breeze Oil.

The Minksheen didn't make her shine but made her softer than I've ever felt on a dog before.

Kaya, with her thin, silky coat, was - and still is super shiney.

Brea's coat is still the puppy coat and it is very thick. The Minksheen worked great on her too. I do like the fact you don't have to keep them in the sink - or wherever you give baths - through so many steps.

You know, Tatum actually looked a little better last night..... the poofiness around her butt had gone down a bit. Don't get me wrong, she does feel really soft..... just not as silky and smooth as usual. One thing I did notice last night is that she's scratching the top of her head a whole lot! I think maybe this shampoo is making her skin dry! I saw little flakes there and she's never had that issue before. I'm gonna try the Cranberry Fields next.... maybe she just needs a stronger conditioner. Good luck to everyone else trying the Mink Sheen. Chances are we were just a bad example for the stuff!

My bottle of Mink Sheen came in today. Used it on my 3 yorkies and they turned out pretty good. The smell is nice, although it does remind me a little of flea shampoo. I really liked how easily this stuff rinsed out of their hair. I did not use any conditioner and although I was able to brush out their hair fairly easy, I think next time I will finish up with a little conditioner. The hair felt very soft and fluffy with a nice shine. I can't say at this point that this is the best I have ever used, but it is a very nice shampoo. I plan to order the Plush Puppy Sea Breeze Oil and try using it after the shampoo and see if I like the results of that.

Well, I'll detail my experience, which was mixed.

***disclaimer: I'm not at all contesting that this product works great for SOME people. We all know that different products work differently for different hair, and you never know until you try. AND, it is highly likely that my yorkies' hair was not in as good condition as others' to begin with!***

I'm just entering year two as a yorkie owner, and so I'm one who is just STARTING to experiment with all the products out there! My goal this year is to improve the quality and appearance of my dogs' hair.

I have Kiki, who is thick and cottony, and Mazie, who is silky but "straggly" looking usually. So....very different hair needs!

When I read the raves here about MinkSheen, I had to try it. And I'm not sorry I did, but, I'm not sure my results are going to be as great as others have reported!

I washed Kiki first. I too (like the poster above) thought that the smell was like flea shampoo when I first put it on....but not as strong. Seems like you don't have to use a lot of this product, and like everyone says, it washes out quickly.

Afterwards her hair DEFINITELY seemed like it needed conditioner, and I had another new product there I was dying to use , but I wanted to see how the Mink Sheen did on its own, first.

I usually stop about halfway (or 3/4) through the drying process, and comb out their hair. The comb was very hard to pull through, and I felt like I might be breaking/damaging the hair.

That sd., I could definitely tell there was a "difference" with this product. Her hair LOOKED cleaner than it's ever looked before, if that makes sense. The colors all just popped out more, somehow.

Her cottony hair, sometimes reluctant to fall into a part, was now doing so easily....and the longer that I blowdried her, the softer she got. She definitely FELT softer than she had ever felt before....however....I am looking for a product that will help her hair lay down flatter....and this doesn't seem to be it. Oddly, the ROOTS do seem silkier than ever....but the ends of her hair are very puffy and frizzy and fly-away looking.

Onto Mazie! When I first got her out of the tub, her hair looked VERY tangly! And again, the combing out seemed to almost "tear" her hair. But by the end, she was, like Kiki, the softest I have ever felt her, and looked and smelled particularly fresh and clean. And in her case, the puffy/fluffy effect was a GOOD one, as her hair is thin. As soon as my son saw her, he said, "Has Mazie finally gained some weight?!"

So so far, this product definitely seems to work better on my silky coated girl than my cotton coated. But, I just *now* washed them....I'll be interested to see if results change at all after a day or two, and with more comb-outs.

(and I AM just using a metal comb. Should I be using a bristle brush for better shine results? I'm not really seeing the shine happening.)

I'm definitely not DISpleased with the product....I just think the system may need some tweaking, for us. Next time I think I will at least use a conditioning product during the blowdry/comb out process. Usually I use the Cowboy Magic, but I also just got something from Plush Puppy I need to try.

So....not a whole-hearted thumbs up from me yet, but, not thumbs down by any means, either!
