Day 4 they are still shiny and soft, and you right, i even like the way they smell now, its faint but very pleasant. It just was very strong smelling the night i gave them the bath. (yes i shook the heck out of bottle)I am sorry i didn get the gallon , which i am definitely going to order. The Co that makes it is not very far from where i live.

Minksheen Verdict is IN!!!!

Ok..........I loved the minksheen product for Toby the Yorkie. Can't say I am as pleased with the product for Kallie, the Maltese!!! Her hair is soft but not any softer than when I used other "good" products. Her hair does not smell the same as Toby's ............ no clue why. But smells like a cleaning product verses a nice clean smell (kind of hard to explain). I used no conditioner and her hair stayed mat free when brushing and blow drying.


BUT..............SHE IS ONE BIG POOF!!!!

Maybe if she had short hair it would do fine but on the long hair, it just made her look poofy. I like the slim, flat, silky look and she doesn't have that this time after her bath...........now I have a whole week of POOFY hair! She is not shiney like Toby either and usually she is. Her topkots were a bear to get in as the hair was so poofy and fly away!

So no I will not use minksheen on Kallie again. And so there you have it, JMO!!!

thanks for your verdict...I guess i wont be using it on Kaine or Kandie...shucks...was getting ready to order a whole gallon...guess i can downgrade since i will only have 1 dog to use it on...

I usually do a conditioner on Kallie.........but you are not suppose to have to use one with this product. Had I used it, maybe Kallie would not be "poofy girl." But I can get better results using her regular brand shampoo and conditioner. It was also the smell, lack of shine that helped me decide not to use it on Kallie again.....not just the poof look. BUT, it worked great on Toby!!!!

LOL! OMG, you had me cracking up! I am so glad the product worked for Toby! You know, your saying how the smell was different and everything confirms my suspicions that this product works best on True Silk coated yorkies. It seems like everyone who complains about the smell or the way the tecture works either has puppies with puppy coats, dogs with cotton, soft, or a modified silk coat, or a breed other than a yorkie or a mixed breed. That is really interesting, I wish I knew what it was that reacts so well with the silk coats that doesn't react well with other kinds of coats....hm.....

By the way I ordered this and the first bath was okay......but the 2nd bath yesterday...I am starting not to like this Minksheen. I have a morkie (maltese/yorkie) and it seems to have made her coat dry, especially on the ends........

All you who have maltese or white coat...help me w/ a shampoo. I have to say I used Cranberry Fields and I do love that !!!!!!!
I am looking for a white shampoo that makes her glisten.

Toby is great with the grooming........just lays on the table until I am completely done but once on the floor, he goes nuts on me!!!!! He's not happy until he looks like he just woke up and is having a bad hair day! But I still love the little rascal!!!
