Hoku is so cute. I hope you get good news on her heart murmur. My Chin has a grade 2 heart murmur. Last year it was diagnosed at 2 yrs. as a grade 1, didn't have it as a pup. Then it went to grade 2. We just had an ultrasound done 2 weeks ago and he has mitrol valve prolapse, so do I but it never has progressed (genetic in my case). I was told that he didn't need anything now and not to worry. When he had his teeth cleaned this past Monday they gave him amoxicillian in his IV 2 hrs. before surgery. He had gingervitis on his upper gums so he is on antibiotics for a week. The vet called yesterday to see how he was. I was shocked, (new vet), my Chin is fine.
I will watch for an update on sweet Hoku.

The vet says Hoku is doing well. Other than being able to 'hear' the murmur she shows no other symptoms. She got her 3rd shot and the nasal bordetella so I can take her walking without worrying about her sniffing other dogs. She was happy and active the whole visit so the vet was very pleased

Monday has a grade 1 heart murmur (on a scale of 1-6) and they are not treating it b/c itz so slight ... but i did not find out until she was 3.5 years old ... and we did a base Ultrasound for the future ..... Itz scary! But Monday seems fine and all ... good luck and keep us all posted.

Thank you for the encouragement. Hoku's murmur is a grade 4 - 5, so it's pretty significant. But I'm still determined to give her the best life possible and I fully intend to enjoy every moment we have together
