| Gracie has two Kongs, the little puppy kong and another log-type with grooves in the side where you put the treat. She pretty much ignores both of them. I tried the puppy kong filling, she got that out within 2 seconds. The peanut butter lasts longer, especially in the puppy kong. Even that occupies her for less than 15 minutes. The thing I don't like about the regular kongs is they are hard to clean, and if you forget to clean one, well, it can be rather gross!

| We have two of the original kongs...just buy the solid kong treats in peanut butter or liver...my baby absolutely looooooooves to chew on those toys until she breaks the treat inside and gets it out. I also bought the kong bone....also one of her favorite toys...I stick half a little bone treat in one end and the other half in the other side. These are the beeeeest things in the world if you work and have to leave your little ones at home alone.

| Roxy and Gracie have 4 different puupy ones but cant be bothered with them. I have tried all sorts of stuff to stick in there but neither one of them were very motivated to "work" for their treat....lol But I do know some dogs really love theirs.... so I guess you never know til you try it. |

| Kong Toy? hmmm Maybe Pepper was too small when I first tried the Kong. He was 9-10 weeks but had no interest in it whatsoever. I got the smallest baby size and tried filling it with peanut butter or that special kong paste. No interest at all. Maybe I should try again, on those days that I have to leave him home to go to work...

| I don't recommend the kong for older dogs i bought one for my 8 1/2 yr old guy and he LOVES it but we were playing with it one day and it loosened one of his front teeth, and he didn't eat for 3 days because his mouth was sore.

| Well, I thought I would try again after all the good suggestions here. I put a piece of biscuit in in and the girls went crazy over it. SInce then I have tried some other things and it is so fun to watch the ways they try to get the goodie out. So. I went out and bought the smaller size for my smaller girl. I put some peanut butter on my finger to see if they liked it and neither one of them were interested in it... I bought one for my brother's black lab cause I don't think he has enough toys . I'll bring it to him on Monday and see if he likes it. Thanks for all the good suggestions - I have wondered too about their teeth, even though my girls are still young. Actually it was my son who said I better be careful cause Tinka is such an aggresive chewer. I wish it would take the baby tooth out of Kays's mouth! omega |

| My Winnie is also an aggressive chewer (at least with her toys she is) and she ripped apart her red kong. We went the next size up and it didn't fair much better. It lasted about 2 weeks. So we swtiched over to the black kong (it's a stronger rubber) and she hasn't been able to make a single dent. But she still loves it. It is a lot bigger, so it took a little work for her to get used to carrying it around. She loves to chew it or fetch it and she especially loves when we put peanut butter in it. And in case you didn't know you can put it in the top rack of your dishwasher. |

| I have to honest, Winnie's breath does smell after she has been chewing her kong. As for mess, well she gets a little peanut butter on her face, but that's about it. |

| I got Cooper the puppy one and he seems to like it....I just put one of his regular small Iams hard puppy treats inside and he is sitting on the couch with dad ever so sweetly trying to get it the heck out of there!!! Hopefully it will keep him busy as he has been full of puppy energy tonight and driving us bonkers I say anything that they will like is worth a try. |

| I bought one for my dogs when I first got it they played with it for maybe 2 minutes tops. Now they don't even look at it not even if I put it infront of them. |
