| Best retractable leashes? What are the best brands for retractable leashes? Also, what length do you like? Thanks for any responses!

| I haven't had any problems with the plain old wal-mart retractable leashes. I have a 16-foot that I've had for a long time and it still works fine.

| I actually went to Walmart and planned to buy one there, but they were out of them. So, last night I started looking on ebay and there are so many different kinds/sizes!

| I have a 16 ft. Flexi for Tango that is more than ten yrs. old. Only now is the hold mechanism starting to go. I think I've gotten my monies worth out of it.

| I have two Flexi's. One webbed and one cord. I like them both. The cord doesn't seem to be as tight and doesn't pull as much, which is good. omega |

| I have a 26ft flexi. I was able to find the longer one in the "small dog" size. We don't have a fence so Loki goes out on leash - this lets him have more freedom to sniff the yard (plus I can stand on the porch!) You have to get the "small dog" size because the others pull too hard. Anyway, you can imagine how many times a day we use it and it's in great shape. We've had it about a year.

| I also have the flexi brand but WARNING!! Last summer I had stitches in my ankle b/c Simon got his leash around my ankle and then ran toward something and cut my leg open. Please be careful with them! Of course I was attempting to manage two leashs and two babies at the same time so it was as much my fault. I now refer to summer as leash burn season! I also read somewhere that the retractable leashes should be replced every year or two because they wear down. |
