| Please Advice... I have a very mellow 2 yr old yorkie (as some of you know i've only had her about 3 1/2 weeks). She's very gentle and very shy, she sleeps a lot and sits around all day really. i've bought her several diffrent types of toys but none interest her. Yesturday when i got home from work I found two pairs of my favorite beaded flip flops completely distroyed!!! First I was very shocked, then worried that she might have swallowed something, but then I felt happy that she actually played with something. Has anyone else had this happen before? Can anyone recommend toys she might enjoy -- that can be somewhat similar to this and not be harmful? Please Help! -- I feel awful thinking she's home alone for 9 hours a day while i'm at work...I want her to be happy and entertained. I can't thank you enough!

| Honey, I can't really give you any helpful feedback as to what might get your baby to play, as I do NOT have that problem with Mason....as a matter of fact, I wish he was a little more tame! What I do know is Mason LOOOOOOVES his Kong . If you haven't tried it yet, I'd definitely recommend it. Of a million toys he has, his Kong is about the only thing he consistently plays with. It's a little rubber ball (or cone, rather) that you can put treats into. I've put peanut butter, jerkeys, meat treats, and fruits in the Kong to keep him active. It keeps him occupied for a period of time and it's my savior Hope it helps! |

| Mymason I have a question about the Kong. I saw them at Petco last night, it looks like a small red snowman, one end is bigger than the other end, the larger end has a bigger hole in it than the smaller end. My question is, if you put peanut butter inside this kong (first of all how do you get it in that little hole) (secondly, how does the dog get it out) and (third, how do you clean the kong once it's had peanut butter in it). I'm assuming you are talking just regular smooth peanut butter like Jiff or Peter Pan, right? |

| YorkieLover9, you described it so much better than I did!! Yes, it looks like a snowman LOL. I just stick a knife into the Jiffy jar and put a chunk of the peanut butter through the Kong's hole and rub it around the inside of the Kong (about 1-2 teaspoons). Mason usually hold the Kong between his paws and licks the insides for about 20-30 minutes. Believe it or not, he gets it all out (I guess his tongue is longer than it looks) !! But I do clean the Kong once in a while under warm water. I just stick my finger in the hole and make sure all the residue comes out. That's it. I have tried to put it in a dishwasher but it didn't completely clean it out, especially peanut butter. So I just clean it with my fingers. |

| I just can't even imagine how you would get a knife of peanut butter into the small hole. Especially with the small Kong. That's why I've never bought him one, guess another trip to Petco is in order. I guess it would keep them busy for a while trying to get the peanut butter out. I know they have long tongues but I can't imagine they could make it skinny enough to stick it in that hole to get the peanut butter out?! |

| thanks for your suggestion MyMason! -- Have tried the bong and she just wasn't interested. it is nice that she's mellow -- just last night i took her out to dinner with us and she sat on my lap the whole time, she never even tried to smell the food. She's a REALLY GOOD GIRL -- I just worry that she's bored while i'm away.

| Well Honey, maybe she has a shoe fetish (like most girls ). Maybe get a pair of slippers that have a character on them and she'll see that as a toy. I don't know, just a thought!

| Here you go - Jimmy Chew shoes for the girl who likes her footwear http://www.smalldogmall.com/shop.asp...7ww5BIEtsp7twz Sandy isn't a big toy fan either. She has one fleece elephant that she LOVES and adores tennis balls She will play fetch with the tennis balls for about 5 minutes, then she's content to just bring it to her bed and sleep with it.
