I'm a designer handbag freak so I thought I'd buy my little Yorkie a Louis Vuitton bag, too. I ended up just walking into the Louis Vuitton store at one of the upscale malls around here and ended up walking out $1650 less than what I walked in with. Talk about buyers remorse. If you want to buy one from eBay, just be reallll careful. If someone is selling 10-20 Louis Vuitton items, then most likely they aren't real. Louis Vuitton uses one piece leather on the majority, if not all, of their handbags and luggage so the backside of the bag should be upside down (with upside down LV emblems), the mesh on the dog carrier should be gold, the inside should be lined with Alcantra or what not lining, somewhat like a canvas-suede type. As for the serial numbers and ID tags, the LV representative at the store says he gets a lot of people coming in there trying to send it through the company to fix because it fell apart, or sometimes they want to return it for a new one. He told me that just because the bags have serial numbers on the inside and ID tags still does not mean that it's truly authentic. That's how good knock-offs are these days I guess. Just a heads up! I don't want anyone getting ripped off! Last edited by natalie; 03-28-2005 at 07:50 PM. | |
