| Do Buddy Belts Really Last? Hey, I'm new here and found the forums searching for information on harnesses for small dogs. After reading your posts I will say that you all seem like the most lovely people - I may need to get a Yorkie. I can see that there are rave reviews for Buddy Belts. I'm just wondering how well they last when used frequently? Do they still look good after daily use after a couple of years? I'm guessing the darker colours are best for daily use, maybe saving the light colours for best. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks!! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I've had mine for years now and they look as good as when I first bought them, just softer. Now granted, I don't go for a walk every day bc there are times of the year where it's just too hot here. So hopefully, you'll hear from others who walk more. But like other leather products - they should last a LONG long long time! They're really great quality. YT member "Maximo" sells them here and is an awesome vendor!

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Same here, I've had mine 8 plus years and in my opinion, they get better with age, I like the way they get softer. From my understanding, about the only thing that can go wrong is if you allow your dog to play with it, if he's not wearing it and some dogs will chew it up. I wanted one because I saw Ann's dog's Buddy belts and fell in love with them, they look so cute and are so much easier to use than a regular harness.

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk. What breed of dog do you have now? I am a retailer of Buddy Belts because they are harnesses I feel good about selling. A member here introduced me to the harness and my boys have used them for 4 and 5 years now. Durability is just one of the things I love about them. Here are Max and Teddy's primary BBs, the Classic Black, photo taken just now (dreary day here, so a little dark): classic black.jpg The boys wear these daily and have put plenty of mileage on them. These harnesses are 3 and 4 years old. The solid color, smooth leathers are the most durable. Metallics, some snakeskin textures, and suede editions are more likely to show wear after awhile, but still very long lasting compared to other harness materials. The interior leather, the part that touches the dog's body, darkens with age like the interior of a leather shoe. I have seen 9 year old Buddy Belt harnesses on the BB Facebook page that look amazing.

| Nancy and Wylie's Mom who posted above are the ones responsible for my love of Buddy Belts.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I'm so seldom impressed with a product, but this was one, I'd buy again and again.

| This IS a product I have bought again and again. I have seven (although three are a bit too small since I didn't realize Katie has such a broad chest) for only one dog. I have matching leashes for most of them. I'm sure I will purchase more, only if it's a color that Maximo sells. I wouldn't consider purchasing from anyone else.

| Thank you Lisa, Nancy, and Ann for the kind words. This member is in Australia and I do not sell internationally, not yet. The Buddy Belt website lists the retailers who do ship to Australia.

| I have been so happy worth our BB. My Sammy is 2 1/2 years old... it's still in new condition and soft from aging. Highly recommend it. |

| Thank you so much for your responses! I did look at Maximo's site but when you live in Aus, the very first thing you do is checking shipping information *before* you get all excited about a product. I understand that International Shipping presents it's own problems but I'll keep checking back just in case. I have Chihuahuas and a Koolie and I found Susan from Wetnose Boutique who has been fabulous at shipping product at a reasonable price for me and just generally being super-helpful. I purchased Buddy Belts for my 2 Chis and was so impressed that I shelled out for a size 8 with matching lead for the Koolie. Last night I suddenly had a little panic attack about the $$ that I had spent and started wondering if it will really last the big dog since he'll naturally be harder on the harness than the little guys. The resounding endorsements and photo that Maximo posted have made me feel so much better - thank you!! This is Nibbler in his Size 2 Natural Buddy Belt with Crystals (yeah I'm not sure why I put crystals on a natural belt either. It doesn't really work but I like sparkles). Thanks again, you guys are the best! http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d..._Buddybelt.jpg |
