The Nutiva organic coconut oil can be consumed by humans and/or dogs. I have used it in place of Olive Oil for cooking and have used it in Rice. I used to put it in Riley's food... but he now gets Nordic Naturals Omega-3 Pet each morning and I just use the Coconut oil, occasionally to rub on his tummy with a cotton ball. | |

| Hi guys, I got my order today, all the dogs and cat likes the coconut chips except Harley my mom's Shih Tzu, I figured she wouldn't like them, I also ordered bacon and cheese treats they are soft they all like them, but harley she is interested when she eats one she spits it out.. My question is the coconut oil when I apply some to harley's skin do I need to warm it up or just get a small dab straight from the jar and rub it on her skin? |

| We love our Coconut Oil- I bought the Nutiva one at Sprouts- Yes it was spendy, but it a pretty big jar so I’m sure it will last us!! Peanut has some skin allergy issues the past month, his belly and inner thighs have been red. I put some coconut oil on him and rub it in and the next day his skin isn’t red!! I have also took a spoonful- let it sit out in my kitchen window till it melts, then when I give Peanut a bath I will mix it in with his conditioner!! OOOOOOMG it makes him smell soooo good and his hair is soooo soft and silky!!
