| Calling all puppia step in vest users!!!! I have decided to try the puppia step in vest for Mojo, but need some advice from users on the sizing. Mojo's measurements are as follows: Neck: 10 inches Chest: 14 1/2-15 inches Length: 12 inches Weight: 8 1/2-9 LBS Can anyone tell me how they run? Small, Large, True to size? I'm looking at one that has the nice soft lining in it. Do you have one for your baby/babies? Does the lining make them smaller so that I should go up on sizing? My mom is thinking about one too and her mini doxie measurements are: Neck: 10 1/2-11 Chest: 17 1/2 Length: she didn't say, but long, hehe Weight: 10- 10 1/2 LBS. I saw the measurement chart, but so many people have said different things I'm at a loss. Thanks for any help you can give. I found some on ebay and the sellers said the medium, but am still unsure. Thanks peeps! |

| I have never seen a medium so I'm not sure. Gracie has a 8" neck, 13" chest. The small fits her nicely. Because there is velcro you can work with the sizing because they are adjustable to the width of your dog. Gracie uses a small but I think a dog some what bigger could wear it also. You just have make sure that you adjust it snugly with the velcro before you snap the clip on top that secures the harness. Gracie was still a puppy when I got this harness for her. It was really difficult to understand the sizing as every website I saw had different measurements. Also the measurements are different for each style. I ordered an Xsmall at first and it was too small. It was more for a tiny puppy. She has put on a pound since I got it and it still fits well. She is 5 pounds now. I wish I could tell you for sure that a small would fit. She does have room to spare but I'm not sure. Maybe another inch or so room she has left. I guess you just need to make sure that who ever you order from has a good return policy. I ordered Gracie's through Amazon and had no problem returning the first one. I'm sorry I can't be of more help. Mojo seems to be right between the small and the medium. As I said they are adjustable so it's not like the measurement has to be exact. Most people love it once they get the right size. Let us know how you make out. |

| Gizmo is an extra small and we need to get a bigger size. So, I'm guessing maybe and medium for your guy.

| Yea I was curious about the sizing on this one too, petco has a vest-like thing too and we tried them on teddy small was too big and i finally found one on ebay for under $20. Most of the size charts don't say anything bout extra small but the option for extra small was there so I clicked it. Teddy is only 3lbs right now (he's a pup) so I hope I made the right choice.

| I got the medium and it seems to work fine for Mojo! He doesn't seem to know he's even wearing it! I love the pattern and color! I can spot him a mile away in the teal blue,LOL.Thanks for all the help peeps! It has a little loose fit around the neck, but when the 2 d rings are cleasped to the leash, it helps tighten it up a bit. It is very soft with a nice lining and well made. The only gripe I have with it is the chest sizing. When it's closed with both pieces of velcro fitting together perfectly, it is a good snug fit without being tight, but the sizing said up to 16 inch chest and Mojo is a 15 inch. I can loosen the velcro and it gives a little more breathing room, but I DON'T see a 16 inch chest fitting into this medium. Maybe it's because of the lining in it, in which case Puppia should knock the sizing chart up a 1/2 inch so that the buyer can use it if their pet grows a bit. LOL. U know the holidays always adds an inch, hahahaha. I love it though! |

| What i mean to say is... I guess a 16 inch chest could wear it, but IMHO, only if the dog is very trained, and you all know ANY baby can B untrained if even for a minute. It seems to me that if the velcro isn't together enough, that it won't be secure enough. That's just me as I have a puller and Mojo doesn't want to come back when called. The one time he slipped a collar that he came to me in, I had to lay flat of my back on the grass to get him to me as he was just too excited to come when I called. The sight of a human being submissive gives them the strong urge to come over and dominate you, and you can grab em right quick, lol. If a dog is well behaved, then maybe the medium would fit a 16 inch chest, but I wouldn't take the chance. I'm thinking since I do love this one so much, of buying one without the lining to see how it fits. I've also thought of buying the large and trying to find a way to put loose wide rubber into the neck/front chest area so it would be smaller or I could possibly draw it up with a drawstring to make the neck more secure, because the medium neck area is fine on him and loose enough. I would be afraid the large neck would B wayyyy too big where the chest might fit better. Wish I could tell yall more, but this is the first one Ive ever bought, so don't know about the unlined ones and how they fit. I would say if your furbutt's chest size is right at the start or in the middle of a size, example: medium says 14-16 inch chest. If your baby is a 14 or 15, it will fit fine. If they r a 16 inch chest, I might try a larger size. I will post back after a week or so of him wearing and let U know if it has stretched any, etc. |

| Gracie's does not have a lining. It's a pink mesh material. She is a puller. Always in a hurry to smell the next scent. I have never had any worries of her getting out of it. The chest part is a bit lose on her but I prefer it that way so it does not push on her throat or chest at all. The D ring on hers is up by her neck so it is easy to make a correction if she starts going in the wrong direction. If she gets near to something I don't want her around I can pull her back or even up very easily with no slack in the harness. I know they make these vests in different materials. Does he have too much room in the front? Sounds like maybe you don't have the right size? |

| I totally have the opposite problem. I got the XS and it fits teddy's chest great, but the velcro on the back is too small, it barely closes. So we decided to get him a Small, hopefully it won't be too big. I don't like how the D-rings are so large, makes it hard to attach my flexi lead. He does look super cute in it and he sees comfortable. I will probably have to sell the XS since he'll probably outgrow this within the month haha

| Does he have too much room in the front? Sounds like maybe you don't have the right size?[/QUOTE] The medium seems to fit him good in the throat area and the chest fits good, but doesn't give him any room to grow even though the sizing chart said 14-16 inch chest and he is a 15. I guess it because of the lining. It makes it more snug. I was thinking that if in future he got too big for the chest area, I might could order the large and figure a way to take up the neck area somewhat if it was too big. Other posters were wanting to know how this particular one worked size wise. That's why I was explaining so much about it. I have pics of him wearing the uptown blue plaid with the lining in an album too, so if others read this, you can go take a look see and get an idea for your own baby using Mojo's sizing and then the sizing for the medium at the puppia site. I'm with you, I love how it fits neck/front chest area when the D rings are hooked because it tightens it a little, but D rings are a little big as you say. They fit my flexi leash, but I have to click it through 1 D ring at a time,LOL. Otherwise, I love these vests! They are cute, well made, and seem to stand up to all of Mojo's constant tugging, hehehe. Plus, I love all the patterns and colors! |

| Oh, I see. The checkered harness is made of different materials and it does have different measurements. I was considering getting the buttercup harness for Gracie but I see it says a small chest would be 12.5 inches and that would put her in a medium I think. Although the medium goes right to 15"! It must be those harnesses have no give to them because there was more of a range of measurements for the mesh harness while the other harnesses give one measurement for each size. I don't know what would happen if I went up a size for her as the small is only off by 1/2". Could you tell me how long the velcro strip on the inside is? Her mesh harness has some give to it and has more velcro to make it more adjustable. The print vests are really cute but do have different measurements. |
