Alright, just placed my order! LOL. I went thru amazon which is sold from wetnoseboutique.

Got the black size 6. It says it will be here Monday or Tuesday! Can't wait to try it out.

I saw this one website offered a "Vectra 16" repellent/spray for $5.00 extra but I figured it might make more sense for me to buy a bottle of it to keep? BUDDY BELTS are made of leather. Before initial wear, it is highly recommended that you treat your BUDDY BELT with a quality water and stain repellent product. We offer stain guard service with Vectra 16 Protectant for $3-5 which repels tough stains while keeping the suede and leather soft and luxurious looking.

Do you think I should buy a bottle, or could I find something in a store that would work?

My mom absolutely LOVES leather products. Shoes, coats, bags, etc.

She treats them all with the SAME product and it works great and her stuff lasts a really long time. She treats everything before use (and may retreat... I'll have to double check that).

I'll ask her what it is. I think it would be applicable here because the harness is leather. I don't think you need a special product to protect the leather, just one that works.

I was wondering the same thing. I'm planning to just pick this up at Walgreen's and see how it works. Kiwi*Protect-All Leather and Fabric Protector Spray | Walgreens

I saw that they make a liner for the buddy belt. I was thinking of getting Trixie the buddy belt harness, but do I need the liner??

I think we may have been posting at the same time - I didn't see what you'd written before I replied. :)

I actually need to go to Walgreen's for something else, so I'm going to go ahead and pick up a can of that spray. But I'd really like to know what your mother uses that she likes so well, just in case. ;)

Woohoo!! I am looking forward to seeing pictures and hearing your reviews. Jackson looks awesome in everything, but I think he is going to look super cool in the BB.

Just got in from Walgreens. I had to ask for help finding it. It was on a rack on the side of an endcap display with stuff to care for shoes. It was on the aisle that said Shoe Needs and it's a small spray can about 4-5 inches tall with a reddish/orangish cap..

Congrats!! I really think you and Jackson will like his new harness. :)

I agree, I think he will look bad to da bone, hahaha. OK, I'll stop being lame now. There is a Harley Davidson collar at Petsmart that says Bad to the Bone on it that I've been wanting to get Jackson for a while... I think it would go nicely with his BB, lol. :p

OMG you should definitely get it for him! It would be adorable. Plus, I love Harley Davidson stuff. I have a sweet pair of HD boots! :thumbup:

I bought some from another site one time and didn't realize they were sold seperate (I figured they came as a pair, one for each side of the belt) so I was really shocked when I only got ONE in the mail and paid $8+shipping for it :thumbdown

I went to JoAnn's and bought my own soft fabric and velcro and sewed some myself. I don't use them often, only when her hair is short and I'm worried it might rub. Otherwise I don't use the liners :);)

What a perfect doggy body! My Max is a skinny 14 pounds of lankiness and wears a 3.5. He'll probably need a size 4 soon.

I WISH Jackson would have fit in a 3.5! Would have saved my wallet a little bit.... I spent $80 on this thing! I hope we like it, LOL

I made the liner for Uni, she has very thin fine hair and it was irritating her armpits. I got faux sheepskin from joannes and hand sewed them in.

We bought the liners but ended up returning them. I didn't think they were really needed. I just takes a little time for the leather to soften.

We never treated ours before wearing but I wish we would have. The inside is getting a bit dirty now. They should last a very long time and I wish we'd taken better care from the start.

I can't wait to see pictures of Jackson in his new Buddy Belt! :)

Teddy received his new Buddy Belt today, a black one, and I was surprised that the underside was white. Our older ones are natural tan. I suppose it doesn't matter, but I'll be curious to see how it wears over time.

Hmmm, that's odd. Both of the ones I just got were natural tan on the inside. :confused: Either way I 'm sure it's the same great product.

I just got a size 2 for Snick and it was white on the inside too. I came home to try it on him and it fits on the 2nd to last hole, not sure if I'm keeping it yet or getting him a size 3 as I'm not sure if clothing will fit under the 2. The 2 is a PERFECT fit for Snick, HMMMMMM!!!!!!!????

Just checked the status of the package!! Wow super fast shipping-it's almost here! It's "in transit" to my city, just left the post office an hour ago, lol. Yay, can't wait to try it on him!

Our Buddy Belts came today!!! I am very impressed with the quality and they are so soft already. I got the black for Bogie and the soft pink for Jada. They fit perfectly with enough room to go over their jackets in colder weather. Susan at Wetnose Boutique was very helpful. I would have had to return Jada's if I had ordered the size 3 I was going to for her. I can't wait to take my guys out for a walk, but that will have to wait until tomorrow. I have treated them with the water and stain repellent before we go out for a trial run with them.

Yay got it! Tried it on Jackson. I really like it. I feel like it's pretty soft and not that "hard" at all. Seems like it will be comfortable. My lining was white too.

Only thing I can't figure out.... you know where they put that lining overtop of the d-ring for comfort? Well... the 2 holes that fit Jackson best go through that lining as well as the leather... and when I try to pull the flap through, it won't go all the way through or lay all the way down?? It's like bulky.... like this first picture.

But otherwise I LOVE it!! And he looks very handsome in it. Just have to figure out how to get the flap down... it won't go any further than that.

Oh and I did buy this Kiwi leather stuff that I found at Walgreens but it wasn't a spray! It rubs on with a cloth.

Jackson looks fantastic in his BB!! The bulky lining thing, we had that problem because the boys wear theirs on a tight setting like Jackson. To fix it, work on manipulating the pieces to lay flat when you are fastening the belt. I know it is extra work at first and a bit of challenge, but eventually it just starts working on its own, if that makes sense.

Looks like the belt will work perfectly over shirts/jackets too. :thumbup: I'm so happy you like it!!

The pink is very pretty.:) My grown skin kids are both boys, so I enjoy the pink frilly stuff.;)
