Yorkie Yakker | Where to find soft dog houses?! Hi guys! So i've been trying to find a soft dog house for my dog Charlie. I want one for the inside of our home since we don't have a backyard or a place for an outside one. Does anyone know where I can find them?! I tried Doggie Vogue since I buy a lot of his clothes there but there are only outdoor dog houses there. Please help! |

| If you search for tent beds you can usually find them- here are some: handsnpaws.com: Tent Beds they tend to be expensive though. I saw some recently at Homegoods and TJMaxx- they were adorable and only 39.99- so if you don't need it right away consider looking around a bit.

| I bought two just like the one in bchgrl's link (except they don't have the bow) at CVS pharmacy for $9.99 back in November. I got one in pink and the other in blue -- they have the exact same paw print material. EDIT: After checking further they are a different size too (20X20X20) and cost $38.95 -- almost 4 times as much! The ones I bought at CVS are called Portable Pet House from Pet Pad. I did a google search and found these for double the price at overstock.com: Pet's Pad 'Fold & Go' Portable Pet House | Overstock.com Mine are just like these except the size is smaller at 17X16X17 instead of 18X18X20 for the Overstock.com ones. I think the larger size is worth more....not sure double though. Ebay also has them in varying qualities and different prints.

Yorkie Yakker | Oh i didn't even know CVS sold them! I mean i've been to petsmart tons of times since that's where i do my shopping for Charlie and he goes to Banfield for his check ups and shots, but they just have the outdoor ones. I assumed Petco is the same way since I've looked on their website as well... Target & Walmart only have beds. CVS would have never crossed my mind! I will definetly take a look over there now! I have looked on EBAY and i saw a lot. The ones with the pawprints show up a lot everywhere I've looked lol. So now I was wondering how big of a house should I get?? Charlie is about 6-7 pounds so I'm not sure if I need to get the 20 incher ones or the 17-18 ones will do?? Popular Pet/Dog/Cat House Bed kennel+toy Red 45x45x45cm - eBay (item 260698749721 end time Jan-25-11 07:00:28 PST) I think this one is adorable. $43 dollars is a little expensive.. especially if i can find one at CVS for 10 dollars.. but if not I think I like this one. Would 17.7 inches L, W, & H be too tight for him you think? |

Thinking more logically, I would probably just go with the Overstock.com bed for $19.99 if CVS is out of the $9.99 ones. The Overstock.com is larger and that is still a reasonable price. But then I paid more than the Snoopy house price for my Petal Bud Beds. But they are made with minkie fabric and SO SOFT! I think it all boils down to how much you want something.

| You might also try some of the better department stores. At Christmas many of them were selling Animal Planet pet items -- beds, sweaters, and these type of portable pet houses. Many of them are putting these items on clearance right now as they don't normally carry them except at Christmas. You might find one for a steal! They look like they might blend in with decor a little easier than the pink & blue paw prints. Here is an example of one on ebay: Animal Planet Portable Fold & Go Pet House Shelter - eBay (item 280612461287 end time Jan-12-11 19:04:22 PST)

Yorkie Yakker | Oh right i remember! My mom was out shopping for christmas gifts and came back with a portable bed for Charlie from Animal Planet =] We brought it to my sisters house for Christmas. It was pretty neat. It zips up and has a little zip pocket in the back for his favorite squeaky hippo =] |

| You can try ikea too. They have cat tents but they work well for the pups too. I have a CVS tent too. I haven't used it yet, but if you find one they're a good buy. You just need to put in a bed or something soft for them. The cushion that is included is pretty flat.

| I bought one at "Build a Bear". My dog's just loved it, until my husband (notice I didn't say DH) threw it in the washing machine. It's made stiff with cardboard and didn't last through the wash cycle. |
