Need folding crate - any ideas? I'm taking my little girl to my parents home for the first time. It's about a 4 hour drive away. I need a confined crate-type of item for Tilly to sleep in that I will leave at their home. I need one that folds up so they can stow it when I'm not there. At home I have a wire crate; it says it's collapsible, but I know I'll never get it back together again once I break it down. Does anyone have any recommendations for one that is under $50? Also, where to buy one quickly as I'm leaving in 5 days! Thanks!

In Florida the best prices on pet essentials is Walmart, not a huge selection but the best $. They have a small wire crate for $32 (single door 24x18). I have seen them in Publix occassionally (on the top shelf) for a surprisingly good price?(who knows why they have them?)

You could always have it shipped directly to their home...

We have this playpen for Milli and take it with us everywhere we go! It's ultimately portable and takes me only a few seconds to pop it open or closed. I love the fact that it is fully enclosed with a zippered mesh roof and zippered doors on two sides. I would HIGHLY recommend this product over any others we've owned or seen! We ordered ours through Amazon.com.

Jencar (and everyone else) If you had one little 5.5lb yorkie, what size would you get? I'm only going to be using it as a containment area for Tilly when at my parents' home. Mom is 85 and Dad is 90 and they get nervous when Tilly is underfoot, especially in the kitchen. I'd also use it for Tilly to sleep in at night. Since you already have this, do you think this is a good idea for me? Or should I just get a soft side folding crate the same size as her home crate? (Oh, and thanks Rhett for the shipping suggestion)

If it helps any, we have the size 'medium' for Milli. There's plenty of room in there for her pillow, a puppy pad, food and water dish, and her toys. The medium size has a diameter of approx. 45 inches. So, you'd need to judge whether you have space for it. I'll attach a photo of Milli in her playpen so you can see how large it is compared to her. She weighs about 6 lbs. so is a little larger than Tilly.
