| Hi guys, Try this with your conditioner. Put a glob of the conditioner into some sort of container that resembles a litter box. Then add warm water to the container. Now with my kerry blues, I can only fit two legs in at a time but with yorkies, I'm guessing if you get a big enough one, you can fit the whole doggie in there. Thus, place your yorkie (assuming he/she fits) inside the container. Take a cup and gently pour the conditioner mixture over the coat, massaging it it with your fingers. Do this all over the pup. If you want a really deep conditioning, do not rinse. Towel dry then blow dry as usual. Due to the conditioner still in the hair (it will not hurt the skin/dog/etc in any way) it WILL take much longer to dry the hair. If you don't want a deep conditioning then rinse as normal after you've spent a couple of minutes massaging it in, and blow dry. That is a trick taught to me by one of my show dogs professional handlers! Stephanie Mastorakis |
