NYC snow and snow salt! Hello YT! I have heard different opinions about snow salt. I live in nyc and own my own home. Is the salt used for the streets dangerous? I own my own house, what can I use! Please post any recommendations.

it is dangerous. Also if your dog starts licking because of the salt it can cause a yeast infection. After I walk Layla i just rinse her paws off with warm water.

Pet supply stores have pet friendly salt that you can use infront of your house, or you can use sand. I would try several different booties as the salt can be painfull on there tiny paws. I wipe Milo's down with uncented baby wipes after our walks.

Thanks! I will look into the pet friendly salt! I also wipe down hsi paws after walks and if there is a lot of salt on the ground, I pick him up and place him in areas with little to no salt!
