| Help with Flea Medicine! My two little 3 year old boys have fleas for the first time. I am horrified and I am not sure what to do. I took them ot the Vet and she said they have fleas and reccomended Vectra 3D. They are only 8 and 9 lbs and I am afraid this is going to be to strong. Any advice on a less harsh but effective treatment? I gave them both a bath with flea shampoo and it seemed to help and tomorrow I am taking them to get another flea bath and their hair cut short to help with the flea issue but I need to get them on some sort of medicine. Any advice or direction is greatly appreciated. btw...we recentley moved and the new vet we went to was totally weird so I didnt feel comfortable asking qs.. |

| I used Frontline plus on mine. She is 4 lbs. My vet told me to just use 1/2 the tube. Worked fine with no side effects. |

| I use Frontline Plus as well for my furbabies (the one for up to 22 lbs). I use one tube for both, each gets half of the tube. My furbabies weight 5lbs and 2.8lbs.

| I don't like flea collars nor sprays, tried both with earlier yorkies, JD is 10 and never had fleas, I use a flea/tick shampoo every two weeks on him he gets a bath. Good luck..

My furkids Donating Member | taken from another thread I posted on yesterday..... Quote:
I have posted several times a recipe from a holistic vet for flea, tick and insect repellent. I'm sure it would work on a cat as well...I will post it again... 15 drops of peppermint oil to 1 cup of water put in a spray bottle and shake...spray on a rag or towel then wipe down the animal, making sure you get around the neck, belly and under the legs try to get it as close to the skin as possible..My Mom uses this on her little Maltipoo who has extremely thick hair...she can not get it to her skin so she just wipes down her coat...she hasn't had 1 flea or tick on her! And you can use it everyday if you have to...do not spray directly on the animal. __
