I have recently been using Minksheen and I have really loved it so far. I really loved the smell of it as well. But I did notice my baby was a bit flakey. I don't know if it was because it was during the winter time or because of the shampoo. I left the MS at home in the States accidentally and have been using a regular shampoo for my baby in Mexico. I am not happy with the shampoo that I'm using right now. Her coat looks really dull to me and I have to use a separate human conditioner for her to be shiny. I'm going to use the MS again in the States and see if she gets dandruff again and if so, I'm going to have to start diluting it and see if that helps. On another note, my Dad started using the MS on his horse and he really loves it as well. Even 3 days after he gave his horse a bath, the horse was super soft and smelled really good. And he's outside running around with other horses, so that says something. :) |
Mink sheen That's interesting to use Mink Sheen on horses. Probably need to get the gallon size. HA HA |
I was curious so I spoke to "Mike" at the company and asked him if you use a separate conditioner if it would interfere with the insect repellant since it might mask the Minksheen 'aroma'. He told me that it shouldn't interfere with the insect repellant because it is the 'oils' in the Minksheen shampoo that repel the insects. I asked him if it was good to dilute it 4 to 1 and he said yes, he himself dilutes his 4/1 and he recommends it. Just thought I would post in case anyone else was wondering about this. |

Too strong Indeed, using Mink Sheen Shampoo full strength is a bit strong. The 4 to 1 seems to be the best. |

I have to say that I really like Minksheen, and kinda like the smell. It's not necessarily a "smell good" smell but I love the fresh, clean smell it gives. I usually use the fresh n' clean spray after they're dry and they smell oh so good. I guess just like anything else, it sometimes depends on each dog & their skin sensitivity or maybe their natural body chemistry. May do better with something different than another dog. There are some multiple owners who use different shampoos for their dogs. Sorry you got the dandruff from it. Hopefully you can still find a good shampoo that works well for her(& you). |
