| What Kind of Exercise Pen is Best? I'm finally going to get Bailey and ex pen. I was wondering what kind you all prefer? Plastic or metal? 3x3, 4x4, etc? I would like to be able to take it with me once in a while, so plastic would be a little easier that way. But I really know nothing about these things. I have been looking at these 3 on Amazon. Any opinions? Amazon.com: North States Superyard XT Gate Play... Amazon.com: Iris CI-604 Commercial Grade Plastic... Amazon.com: 24H" x 24" 8 Panel GoGo Black Epoxy...

| I don't have any experience to draw from, I'm researching for myself right now. But one of the pens you mentioned above is on SALE right now for $39.99 (usually $59.99) with FREE shipping at Amazon. It got really great reviews. It's this one - Amazon.com: Iris CI-604 Commercial Grade Plastic... |

| You're welcome! I noticed that too. I was just showing it to my hubby last night and decided to go ahead and order it this morning. I was very happily surprised by the new cost |

| We have 3 different pens...the first one you have listed is okay. Not that greatest and every time you change the shape it feels like you are going to break it. Not worth the price. I like the metal ones and many times you can find them in small animal catalogs for way cheaper. I do like the look of the 2nd one you posted, but I'm not a big fan of the plastic ones. I would rather have the metal ones with the doors.

| This is the way to go. Different colors, different sizes. I got the small because it's 3 1/2 feet. It was a heavy plastic flooring that is totally washable. Plenty of ventilation. You don't have to keep the zipper closed on top. Only if you have a bad jumper. The screen just rolls back. It also has 2 zippered side doors. They roll up as well. Nothing is left just hanging. Includes a match carry case. Just pull the middle of the floor up and it folds in one piece. I like the screens because if I take it somewhere when we are going to be out, no worry about bugs. And light??? I never felt anything so light. The very best investment I ever made. 49.00 and FREE shipping!!! I just referred this to another member and she purchased one. Of course the choice is totally yours. Pink Plaid Pet Tent Exercise Pen Playpen Dog Cat Crate - eBay (item 280332834096 end time Apr-14-09 09:42:09 PDT) Carol and baby Jemma |

| I was going to ask if its scratch and chew resistant. I was looking at these for Norman (because he is a jumper and I liked the top) but I worried he would scratch or chew his way through.

| I ordered a larger pen from Kmart because Jackson is a bigger guy and could easily jump out of the smaller ones if he wanted to. Summer Infant Secure Surround Gate by Summer - Model 46077811 at Kmart.com It's a bit big is the only thing so it's hard to find a good place to put it. What I liked about it though - I kinda of made into a square shape and put it in the corner of my bedroom. But, if I need to bring it outside or somewhere else and make it bigger- that's possible too.

I have a puppy, I guess I'll have to throw in alot of chews!!!! He goes right in and plays around in it. By tonight he should be tired and love him new home. Small is a great size for one yorke. If you have more than one yorkie than you would probaly want a size: large. Small cost $49.99 on ebay with free shipping. I got mine in 3 days coast to coast. I was so impressed! Great product. I wouldn't be without one!

Didn't I send you the link? Yea, I thought you told me you ordered one. Glad you like it, it's great. Well my puppy is 5 months and never had a problem with her chewing thru it. Her little bed is in there with some toys AND a pee pee pad. And if I'm out somewhere, her food and water are in there too. I would not hesitate one bit to get another. | |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I can't use X-Pens with my Yorkie, she climbs straight up the side and over the top. I was afraid she was going to break a leg or her neck so I put it away. It's a tall one we bought years ago when we got our Bichon which liked to jump. Anything she can get a foothold on she uses to climb. I swear she's spiderdog!

| You can use the link I posted above and go look at it. The top has a zip over cover so your Yorkie can NOT jump out. |
