| Outdoor playpen? Does anyone have any recommendations for an outdoor playpen? We have an X-pen for inside, so I want something similar to it, but with more room, and easy to take down and put back up. We live in a townhome, so we can't do a fence in our yard and I hate having to have them on their leashes when were outside, I want them to be able to run free. Also, our Xpen we got it at Meijers and it was like $60, I could always buy 2 more and put them together but that would be $120, and I don't want, and don't have that much to spend. Does anyone have any suggestions?

| When we first got Romeo we couldn't afford much. So we got some wire fencing with the green rubber coating. About 2 feet tall. (home depot). We cut it with wire cutters to the size we wanted. Un rolled it in a circle. Spicked it down with spikes I made out of wire coat hangers. I made them long so they wouldn't pull out of the ground. To close it we cut off the smooth end and bent over the ends to make hooks, then hooked it through the other end and hand bent them to close it. Making sure the ends pointed out. It is so easy to put up and take down if you need to. We take it with us if we need to. Just unhook, un spike and roll it up. Hope this helps. |

| I think the total cost was about 20$. And there is alot of fence on one roll. Matter of fact we keep it in a large duffle bag from thrift store. Last edited by kathrynS; 05-18-2008 at 06:10 AM. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have been looking for something to put in the front yard when I am working in the garden but haven't found anything. What I have in the back is 2 expens the shortest ones attached to my sliding glass door and the girls have a large play area and I just open the slider and they can go out, of course I am right there when they are out. I think I only paid 35.00 for each expen.

| My husband is in the process of making me a colapsable one for the puppies. We are using old red barnwood to frame (to match farmhouse decor) and just attaching chicken wire to it with hinges and latches so that it can be folded and stored after the puppies go to their new homes. Heck of alot cheaper than the xpens

Donating YT 30K Club Member | It does come with ground stakes but we don't use them. The way it is set up we have never had a problem with it falling down. It works great. We leave it up year round, but it just folds down when you want it to.
