I have heard a lot of different things about greenies. So sy they are good and some say they are bad. Has anyone ever given their Yorkie pup a greenie. Are they good or bad.

Maggie has been eating them since she was 3 months old. I buy the mini size. I have never had any problems with them at all. She also gets pigs ears, which a lot of people say those are no good either. All people raise their children and yorkies different. My vet said it was fine, so I will trust him, since he is a specialist in Yorkies.

thanks I heard that pig ears could kill yorkies too but thatnx becuase my yorkie is 3 months old and im going to get some greenies now.

Bailey LUVS greenies... I dont give them to him alot,, cause I can definatley tell when he has had them...( in his poop)!!

So I dont know what that means, he gets one about every 2-3 weeks,,, ( special treat).

My Yorkie is 2 and has been having greenies since he was 6 months old....I have only found them in 10-20lb dog size and Darby is 4 lbs so I cut them in half. We only give them to him as a special treat since probably too much of anything isn't good...but overall we really like them and have had no problems with them.

Stewie has had greenies since he was at the breeder. He and I both love them. They're great for his teeth.

Send an e-mail to info@greenies.com asking for free samples and they'll send you a bunch of stuff and some coupons for free greenies.

ive seen some posts of them getting stuck in there throats so i hold it for them now so i have one in each hand one on each side i think they like it that way im like a personal holder lol

That's a really good idea, browniesmom622.

Basically, short sessions and supervision works for us.

We do let our 8 month old Bodhi spend ten supervised minutes with a Greenie once a week. And as long as his bowels are working normally and we're not testing a new treat.

The Greenie is stored in a paper towel to dry out in between uses.

I discussed this w/my vet after the warnings. It's mostly the gulpers that have obstruction problems. I believe greenies are similiar to a wax/plastic combination.

We got the inedible Greenie in hopes that it would subsitute, but the "Melon Burst" flavor & rubber doesn't even come close to the real thing.

Pig ears - I'm too concerned about bacteria and a curled up piece getting lodged in his teeth.

I bought a bag of small Greenie bones. I asked the clerk at the Pet Supplies Plus store if they were okay for small yorkies (4 lbs.). She said it was fine for him. When I got home, it was so hard, I tried to cut it in small pieces. Then I decided to send "Greenies" an e-mail.

They sent me back an e-mail stating that the small bones were not good for the tiny dogs. They suggested the Greenie Lil Bits, they can be sprinkled over their dog food. They are just little flakes We bought some and my sweetie pie loves them. Although you have to be very careful about the amount you give him because the recommended serving is very small. As with anything you don't want to go over the caloric intake for the little pups. We don't want them to be overweight and thus suffer health problems.

Thanx yorkie lover is my sis and i think that that is a really good idea i will try that.
