| [News] Alligator Kills Yorkshire Terrier Our dry weather is leading to more alligator sightings in Central Florida and Tuesday, a dog became the latest victim. Investigators in Daytona Beach say an alligator attacked a Yorkshire terrier at a lake in the Grand Champion subdivision. Police say the dog's owner was taking pictures of a golf course, when the dog went to take a drink at the lake and was pulled under. The owner went into the lake to try to save the dog but it was too late. Officials say our current drought is forcing gators out of their current locations, as they hunt for water. Wildlife workers are now looking for the alligator, which is believed to be between 8 and 10 feet long. http://www.cfnews13.com/News/Local/2...e_terrier.html |

| The news has been warning us about this. I've seen quite a few because of the drought. Poor little guy. In our area 3 people have died in the last fews years from attacks.

| Oh My Gosh, that's horrible. I remember watching the TV show COPS one night and they were in Florida. A homeowner had called them because an alligator was just laying in their carport and he wouldn't leave.

| Yes I agree But I didn't know Yorkies were on the menu. My DH told me about the time he was in Florida on holiday and of course Mother Nature gave a call. So he proceeded down and enbankment and did the on a log which then opened an eye. Sure scared him,so much, that he forgot to zip up and ran like the devil out of there |
