| [News] Family’s Yorkshire Terrier Victim of a Drive-By Dognapping A British family is begging for their pet Yorky to be returned after it was dognapped A British family is begging for the safe return of their pet Yorky after it was snatched by two men driving past its home in a car A British family has been left devastated after their pet Yorkshire terrier was snatched from the street by two men in a car. The dognapping happened as the owner's sister Brenda Marshall, 47, was walking the dog on a street in Breightmet. Scrappy, a two-year-old pedigree terrier was sharing a walk with his father Max, when two men pulled up in a car. They jumped out and one man snatched Scrappy's leash out of Marshall's hand. She gave chase, but fell, smacking her face on the pavement, and the two men drove off with the dog. Scrappy a two-year-old pedigree dog is owned by Jennifer Hatch and her four children. Miss Hatch, 42, also of Breightmet, said she cannot believe that someone would steal her dog. "I just don't know what to tell them," she said, referring to her daughters, 12-year-old Emma and 13-year-old Sammie. "I just can't understand how anyone could just snatch what is obviously a very well-loved family pet." "Scrappy is part of the family. He is a real little character. Max is his father and he is pining for him," she added. The family is publicly appealing for the thieves who stole Scrappy to return him. "I feel awful about what happened. I would just ask these men to look at their conscience and return this lovely family pet," said Marshall. The man who snatched Scrappy is described as white, aged between 20 and 25, with short, brown hair, slightly balding. He was wearing a sweatshirt and jeans. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 0161 8560963 or to place an anonymous call to Crimestoppers 0800 555111, UK.

| oh that is the most horrible thing I have heard .... snatching a dog ... now we are not even safe to walk our dogs on a leash? Hopefully the pup is microchipped and an alert has been put out. I wish you the best and hope you find scrappy asap ... keep us posted.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I can't BELIEVE people are resorting to this - I really can't. That's what the high price of yorkies is doing to the crooks in the world and I hope they catch those coldhearted LAZY JERKS and throw them in jail - that poor poor dog and family |

| Hard to imagine someone that cold-hearted! This is a good reason no one should buy a puppy unless they see at least the momma for themself. No one should buy an adult dog unless they can validate ownership in some way. I feel so bad for the family that lost their dog like this -- always wondering what became of him, always feeling the loss.
