| That's so sad that being one of the top 10 breeds is actually a negative thing...Puppymills thrive on this

| I agree with all of you. I think it's completely great that they're so popular, but at the same time I see all the negativity it can bring too. I can believe in my heart all day long and hope that everyone who makes it so popular has the best intentions for the precious babies, but in the back of my head I know that not everyone does. I want to say I hope they're #1 soon, but at the same time I wish they were #60 or something. I guess I just have high hopes that everyone can love and cherish them and care for them the way they need and deserve. But that's one huge hope.

I agree - it's nice to know how special they are and WE Already know this but it is bad for any breed to be the most popular or even in the top 5........too bad isn't it ?

ANything that can be done to a backyard breeder? After reading a few things here, I believe my breeder was the worse and she is so evasive with me, it is scaring me... I wanted my papers - I can't even get them... I went to the AKC link supplied on this thread, they say quote" You should have get an individual dog registration application from the sellar" "The application must be filled out jointly by the litter owner and the new owner of the dog. The litter owner must fill out most of the application" My paperwork from the breeder states that once I supply her with a certificate for spay/neuter is complete" mail/e-mail or fax: she will give me a URL where I can go online and register my pup with one or several online registires, in my own name. She has been evasive about giving me her full name and mailing address, at first telling me it was in my paperwork - IT WAS NOT/ when I brought that to her attention last month, she tells me I don't need it anyway "Oh my hubby & I get so much mail, sometimes it needs to be sent back to the post office because it doesn't fit in my mailbox. I never heard such nonsense. I love CHloe and nothing will change that but I think this breeder is a "shister" When I got her, she had an ear infection, roundworms, parasites, cocsitia, and a slight cough my new vet thought was kennel cough (after anti-B the cough stayed/never worse/never better) After reading here I wonder if it is a trac problem. All this and not to mention she was underweight (not any longer) I am at her breeder and would love to put her out of business and save others from this grief.

| I agree with everyone. Once you own a yorkie you never want anything else they are just wonderful. Too bad everyone else found out as well.

| Aha! So, this is why it took so long to receive Bodhi's AKC Registration! It's because of Yorki popularity. I had mailed in the application last March. The check cleared the next month. And the registration just arrived yesterday. (I was going to do a YT search to see if 8 months is the norm, but just try doing a search for AKC Registration, ha ha) Until I read this announcement, I just figured AKC was a staff of 3 people. |

YT Addict | I myself would be perfectly happy if they dropped off the AKC popularity chart so only those of us that truly love them could keep our our little secret!! number 3! give me number 25 anytime.
